id put Marchisio over Pogba simply for his consistency. Pogba was amazing for 3-4 months around November-February but after the injury we saw much less of his amazing performances. Marchisio kept a very high level through out the whole season. he never was as good as Pogba in those 3 months, but he was always up there close. and he was playing 2 positions (CDM and CM, depending on if Pirlo was playing or not) equally good. performance wise, no.1 midfielder in Italy last year, top3 with Iniesta and Modric probably in Europe. maybe im overlooking someone who i havent watched enough like Verratti (pretty sure he had a fantastic year), or Pogba could be argued to have a better season based on those 3-4 months, so im gonna corrent my statement a bit. he was top5 definitely last season, top3 even for me :p
Ya Verratti had an amazing season, he was definitely one of the best midfielders in Europe last year, absolute quality. I'd also add Kroos and Fabregas to that list.

I disagree about Pogba and Marchisio, i mean i obviously dont watch as much juve games as you do, but i think we differ here in how we evaluate players. While you may be right that marchisio was more consistent, that doesn't necessarily mean he was better. For example at Chelsea last season, Matic was probably their most consistent player, you could say he was a solid 7 throughout the season, Cesc on the other hand was a 8-9 for two thirds of a season where he was one of their most influential players, but was average for the last third of the season. I'd still say Cesc was better, he was more decisive, even though Matic was probably more consistent.

Btw do you guys have a player of the season poll for fans? EPL teams for example all have an end of season poll for player of the season.

I think he was referring to central mids. Hazard and FA would probably be considered fully fledged attacking mids.

where do we stop narrowing down the sample? :p best holding midifielder named claudio and playing in turin? :p

Didn't he sign for psg when they were going through their renaissance?
he movied there from serie B, his next stop ought to be real or barca imo

Where did he come from back then?
Exactly.

I don't know it seems more natural for me to compare central mids with other central mids. You could broaden it and include all midfielders, but I'm pretty sure he wasnt including attacking midfielders like Hazard when he made that top 3 statement.

i didnt mention Fabregas because of his poor 2nd half of the season (i havent watched much of him anyway, but thats what i read about him). Kroos was great too, but Marchisio was better

my point of Marchisio was that, not only was he consistent, but he did so at a very high level. he was keeping a very high level through the season, Pogba had amazing moments, deciding games on his own and stuff, but he was way more often under his level than Marchisio. in the end, its very close but Marchisio edges it for me because of his consistency.

Not bad in principle, but a butchered up logo (you can't even really make out anything but the silhouette here) is an absolute no-go. That's why last year's Milan jerseys for me are still pretty much the most pathetic shirts I've ever seen.

Even if it comes back Italy won't hold on to it for long. Heck, 3rd Italian CL team lost 3 times in past 4 seasons

PPL said that about Germany, and look at them now?

Besides Inter and AC Milan are strenghtening again since their new financial income.
