Samp 'not worried' about Europe
By Football Italia staff

Massimo Ferrero has “zero” concerns that Sampdoria will be thrown out of Europe, letting Inter through instead.

The Blucerchiati only got the position in the Europa League because sixth-placed Genoa were denied a UEFA licence for failing to register a suitable ‘home’ stadium.

Now UEFA have requested more information on Samp and will decide on June 17 whether a one-point penalty in 2012 for having a player involved in the match-fixing scandal is enough to rule them out.

The player, Stefano Guberti, rarely featured for the Blucerchiati and Sampdoria accepted a one-point plea bargain.

“How worried am I? Zero,” President Ferrero told Sky Sport Italia. “I always said that I believe in justice, not just the sporting kind.

“There are gentlemen and people of real quality who are going to decide, so why should I be worried? Besides, Torino got into Europe, so why shouldn’t we?

“Maybe someone in Milan is annoyed at us being ahead of them…”

The big benefit for Sampdoria is the Torino case, as they were allowed into the Europa League last season despite being in an identical situation.

The only difference is that the Italian authorities forgot to register the point penalty for match-fixing.

@Valerio. have you got any news on stadia in italy? I saw Udinese renovating, but who else? Roma looks like stuck, Milan thought about building one, and what about Cagliari, Napoli? Whats going on generally in Italy? Do Italy need to host a EC to upgrade?update please.
Well Roma seems to be "ready" to present their stuff. They're going trough all the bureaucracy. And in general in Italy you never know. To do something you either need "the power" or you need to please everyone.
Milan is waiting for the grounds owner to tell them if they have won or loss. In few days we should know if they won the "Portello" area or not.
If not they'll probably jump on Expo Grounds. So once Expo is over they'll acquire something and make their shit there.
Udinese are completing their stadio restyle. Guess by next championship they will have it ready.
Inter if Milan goes and build a new one we'll buy or simply re-style San Siro. that's it.

That's something you can take for certain.

Then there were rumors about Fiorentina and Lazio but it's only rumors. Nothing to back it on.

We don't need a EC or WC cause then the stuff built will be owned by Italy and not the clubs.
While in Italy we need clubs to own their stadio and profit from it.

It is a bit sad that the san siro would go.

Aesthetically, my favorite stadium with saint denis stade de france.

But well, cant fill 84k seats with the crappy football those two shitty teams produce.

With Udinese renovating the stadium, will their match day ticket profits goes to them? Like how it is with us and our current stadium.
And apart from us, only Sasuolo is having their own stadium and enjoying match day benefits right?

Nuovo Stadio Friuli look really good. I know they had 42.000 seats in their old stadium, but the new one will have 25.000 and I think it is still too much for a club with a small fanbase like Udinese. For the big matches it is great, but against Frosinone & Carpi next year there will be max 15.000

Yes but benefits aren't as high as everywhere else in Europe.
Sadly we are poor right now and prices are high. Add riot problems and so on.
The problem is complex. Honestly our stadio brought us from the 18-19m/year income from tickets to the 45-50m we're making rightnow but that's it. This ammount will increase only by increasing tickets price.
Italians unlike germans/english don't spend money there. They go look at the game and leave. Merchandise in Italy is almost non existent because if you ask italians: "would you pay this juventus fake shirt 10euro or get original shirt for 80-90euro?" 9/10 would get the the fake one for 10. What's even funnier is there are toons who sell fake shirts right infront of the stadium and so on.
Sadly we can't and we will not profit like english/german clubs do.
While Barcelona and Real profit so highly cause they're the top of the top and their stadiums can hold 90-105k people at once and since they're succesful their stadio is always full.

Juventus to increase their revenue need to diracly hold on different stuff from football. Instead we loan shops to other brands and get shit from it.

Beautiful stadium, just a shame they are such a wannabe Juve; first the stripes, now the stadium :D

But seriously, so glad to see this, and for the price, every club in Italy should be doing this.
