I agree. Yes, they're overpaying, but at the same time substantially increasing their chances of CL qualification with this signing. If they can add a couple of other good players as well in the summer I definitely see them challenging for top 3 with Yaya on board. He's a phenomenal midfielder who will make them much harder to break down.

Players who are mostly defined by their physique, dont have great careers post their physical decay. The ones who are defind by technical ability and intelligence do.

Toure wont be close to Pirlo or Tevez. He's no gifted maestro, and he doesnt work for the team.

Yaya is an incredible midfielder, he's just very inconsistent. They need consistency at this point, and especially long term signings. This is a very nice bandaid but it won't really allow the team to grow.

I don't think many people doubt that Inter may well get a good year or two out of Toure.

The issue is whether they are having to overpay for those years and whether they are taking a big risk in offering Toure such a long contract.

Well, yeah, it's a big risk and looking at the total sum I think one would have to say that they're clearly overpaying.

I just think he's the kind of player and personality they really need at the moment, and that this may propel them back into the CL. Hopefully it doesn't, though. And if it doesn't, they would be truly fucked.

To me, it's not a laughable signing, but I will agree to it being rather desperate.

i think he will suit them well. him and gurain offer them good box to box options.

this also means they can push kovacic further upfield where u want him to be instead of in center of mid.

they just need another good creative direct mid and they could do well. say what u will about icardi but with proper service he will wreck serie a

edit: if i was them i would go for ibra.

ibra-icardi would a great attacking line up

you've got to be fucking kidding me:

Juve must compensate Napoli fan
By Football Italia staff

In a bizarre legal precedent, a court has ordered Juventus to pay €3,000 damages to a Napoli fan offended by crowd chants.

The ruling was made by a justice of the peace from Torre Annunziata, near Naples, called Francesco Buonocore.

Lawyer Giovanni De Angelis must be compensated €305 for the cost of the ticket, his train fare and stay in Turin, plus €1,000 for moral damage and legal fees for the first and second trials.

In total, the club must shell out €3,000 to De Angelis, who was offended by chants during the Serie A game at the Juventus Stadium on November 10 2013.

The court ruled he was forced to leave the stadium early, as the atmosphere in the stadium had become “unbearable” due to repeated insults aimed at Neapolitans.

“During the first half, Juventus fans unveiled a banner calling for the eruption of Vesuvius and the death of the Neapolitan population.

“The banner remained initially at the centre of the Curva, then moved lower down the stands, without the stewards removing it.

“Juventus must bear responsibility because employees of the club did not take any steps to avoid or stop the shameful behaviour of their fans, even failing to invite them to cease via the tannoy system.

“This action would’ve given a clear show of dissent and condemnation towards this behaviour.”

In Italy the anti-Neapolitan chants are often treated the same way as racist insults, with full or partial bans on supporters for future games.

I thought this kind of lawsuit abuse only happened in the US.

If you can sue for abusive chants then we should be able to bankrupt like half of the league for all the anti juve shit.

Gets me thinking. A court looked at the case and approved his lawsuit. What if instead of one fan 1000 fans would have filed the same suit?
Or what if 1000 fans will do so next time because the court established a precedent?

And why is a court located in Napoli not disqualified on the grounds of bias in the first place?

The judge is a JP. afaik JPs are not required to have a law degree. They are basically regular citizens who get some basic legal training. Something tells me this judge is pissed at those anti-Napoli chants and invented a way of making someone pay for that.

Milan adopt cryogenic chamber
By Football Italia staff

Milan are installing a new cryogenic chamber to help prevent and limit the impact of injuries.

The Rossoneri have long been known for their innovative techniques in Milan Lab, even though they tend to have more injuries than most clubs throughout the season.

The latest approach is sending players into a room at -30 degrees Celsius for 30 seconds, then for two minutes into another room at -110 to -160 degrees Celsius.

“It can even halve the recovery time from muscular lesions, strains, contusions and lumbago,” explained Marco Tonini of Sapio Life.
