President Silvio Berlusconi is “happy” Mattia Destro arrived and wants “a young Italian Milan, preferably from our academy.”

The patron made his now traditional Friday afternoon visit via helicopter to the Milanello training ground, where he spoke to the squad and Coach Pippo Inzaghi.

“Italian, young, preferably internationals and preferably from our academy. That’s the Milan I want,” Berlusconi told Milan Channel.

“It requires a bit of patience.”

He then complimented Cristian Zaccardo, who hadn’t played a single game this season before coming in and scoring against Parma during an injury crisis.

“You did great things against Parma, then the penalty and the goal. You didn’t get a pass wrong. Well done.

“Destro, I am very happy that you are here. Welcome Bocchetti and Paletta, you have honest faces. It’s good to see the new buys are all Italian, or have Italian passports and have South American roots.

“I think we used the January transfer window well to reinforce the squad.”

I can't help but think about how he kept Tevez onside last weekend though :seven:
Yeah? Lets see him do it then. Always so much talk from this man.

    Yes, it is.

    Milan were in the same situation when the won the CL and decided to stick to the same team and not invest in younger players. It brought them 10 years backwards later on.

    We're having way too many old players in our starting XI. Buffon, Licht, Chiellini, Evra, Barzagli, Pirlo. Even Tevez is 31 and Llorente is hitting 30.

    But we have invested in Youth. The club is in good hands

    Yep.

    One main difference between us and other Italian clubs is that we have our youth at other clubs. Not that other clubs don't have youngsters out on loan/co-own as well, but not of the quality Berardi or Rugani posess. Romagnoli is perhaps the only one in this respect elsewhere in Italy.

    I could see a scenario where in three years we are not quite as strong as we are now in terms of our team if some youngsters seriously fail to live up to their potential or replacements for Tevez, Buffon flop, but we won't experience anything similar to what Milan did. We have got youth and replacements lined up, they didn't in any way.

    Buffon = Leali
    Evra = Asamoah, but obviously we need a genuine LB
    Barzagli = Rugani
    Pirlo = Sturaro (completely different players but yet have so many CM's including your Boy marchisio)
    Llorente = Morata
    Tevez = Probably a replacement this summer

    We aren't that bad, yo. :D

    Reading your PM's now by the way :stuckup:
