Roma would actually be dangerous if they bought a striker. I thought they were insane to start the season with Totti/Destro while everyone was fapping to Sabatini. What would it have taken to buy even a competent modern striker who could keep up with the rest of the team?

Imagine if they had not bought Iturbe and instead got Mandzukic or Jackson Martinez or even something less like Gignac, Pelle, Doumbia or even $#@!ing Zaza.
Yep. They spend 30 mil on a winger, when they already have Gervinho, Florenzi, Ljajic who can play that position. And worst of all, they barely play Iturbe.

They really needed to buy a striker last mercato.

If Roma had a real CF where would they play Totti? That guy can't play out wide at all cause of his total lack of speed; so they opted for wide forwards just to play Totti in the middle.
By the way, Destro is a decent forward but he was benched for too much time and is completely out of form and confidence.
Have a feeling we'll see him in one of milanese teams soon.

I don't recall any other player of late that had that much protection and was considered pivotal for a top side, even when completely out of form and lost most of his assets that once made him to be considered as one of the best players in Europe. When you field 38 yo Totti, decaying player by all means in decisive CL encounter, you're provincial club that cannot aspire for any meaningful trophy. I hope he continues starting for them and stays free of injuries for a long time.

As soon as DP lost his touch and became more of a burden for us we parted ways and that was the right thing to do, despite that most of us were sentimental concerning him. Same with Real and their resolution regarding Raul. That is what big clubs do.

So far it seems he's nowhere close to be even thinking about retiring. Good news for us.

A couple of days ago Garcia said to the media he promised Totti a scudetto until he retires. Hopefully it will last as long as possible :p

I wonder how Roma will do with Gervinho away at AFCON? On the one hand he misses endless easy chances, but on the other hand, he creates more chances than the rest of their team combined... A paradox... Without him though, how are they going to trouble defences? Iturbe?

It's inexplicable why people here think Gervinho is some superstar in Serie A, and that he struggled in the Premier League.
Easy: It's a great argument for two of the most popular opinions on here.
1.: Serie A sucks.
2.: We need pacy tricky wingers.

With this in mind, it's only natural that his impact and performances are grossly overstated time and time again.

That's a huge loss for them. Easily their most dangerous and effective attacking player, missed sitters or otherwise.

I can't believe they start Totti and make him play so many games. Absolutely retarded, he is absolutely finished at this level and has been for a few years now. A liability.

only watched yesterday´s game with one eye. so roma should have had a pen?
:shifty:

armero´s second yellow looked like bullshit to me. milan actually defended quite well after it but roma´s attacks looked so lame most of the time. just play the ball out on the wing and hope for the best...
they would be so much better if they had spent their iturbe money on someone like jackson martinez, i guess.

I hope Totti continues playing until he's 50.

Yeah the pen wasn't given and I also think the Armero's red was bollocks. In the end it turned out well for us so I won't complain :p
