Or simply do away with Europa leaga.

Make an European super league where top 3-4 from each league competes in super league.

Change champion league to champions cup. Make it more like a knockout round cup tournamentioned for only league winners

unfortunately his bullshit aligns with UEFA ideology, which roughly translates to milan-barca creates more buzz/money than bate-barca. CL should only be open to teams that actually win the league title.
And then you get the fun of the other competition(s) returning to being considered prestigious because they'd have lots of of strong teams playing in them.

De Sanctis is a moron. Anyone using the argument of Juve having disproportionate success between Serie A and Europe is a moron. It's just not true. Juve is the 4th most successful club in UEFA competition history with 11 trophies. And all in basically a 25 year period, as before the 70s the club basically ignored European football as it lacked the prestige it would later gain, and then we had Calciopoli in 2006 which caused the loss of many of our best players and basically a decade long rebuild to be competitive financially and in Europe again. Without Calciopoli we'd very likely still be in 3rd in UEFA trophies won, as we likely would have won the CL again at some point with the powerhouse team we had in the mid 00s, and Barca only passed us with their most recent trophy.

It really is a joke to suggest the 4th most successful club in UEFA competition history has had a disproportionate amount of league success to European success. Besides the fact that CL finals are often a toss-up with weaker teams upsetting better teams. The fact Juve has gotten through to the CL final 7 times is also impressive, and with a bit better luck in the pitch or performing in that one last game of the year, we could easily have had 5 CLs today. Unfortunately, we don't. However that doesn't take away how good a team has to be in Europe to even get through to the CL finals.

De Sanctis. King of peasants.

Capello: 'Juve have winning mentality'
By Football Italia staff

Fabio Capello was “disappointed” by the Juventus-Roma controversy. “The difference is a winning mentality.”

The Bianconeri beat Roma 3-2 in a fiery Turin clash, which saw two red cards and several contentious decisions.

“Juventus-Roma was not a beautiful game in many respects, particularly the controversy both during and after the match,” Russia Coach Capello told reporters.

“I was disappointed, as it should’ve been an example of Italian football coming back to a top level. The difference is in how accustomed they are to winning. There are clubs where you go and breathe in the winning mentality. Juventus have that mentality.”

Despite a poor start to the campaign, Capello believes Napoli can get back into the Scudetto race.

“When I was in charge of Milan there were seven teams fighting for the Scudetto, because there were also certain great Presidents.

“Now the only remaining clubs are Roma, Juve and Napoli. The rest make do with simply competing.

“The level of player in Serie A has dropped too. If you train with a great player, you learn and improve. Today, not having top players in their squads, they copy mediocre levels.

“Abroad the clubs who have more money can buy the most talented players, so they take on a winning mentality.

“Fortunately during this economic crisis Italian football is doing a good job of finding talented young foreigners. Only one top player arrived and that was Carlos Tevez.”
