Its not funny (besides hating Rooney bit) if you acknowledge when it was made, Bojinov as 16-19 year old looked ridicolously impressive. Mainly the 2004-2005 season where he looked like the best young player around in the game (recall how he put Inter to the sword, dozen goals in not so much appearances was top season for any player, let alone a kid). Then he wasnt a teen anymore and reality struck as an insanely unprofessional dud.

P.S I will save you the time before one or several of you say the magic word, yes yes, Zeman effect blablabla.

Can't wait to see Napoli fail again. There peak is over and Milan teams catching up with Roma right behind us.

Back to being a garbage team in a garbage city.

Sassuolo 'model' Serie A club
By Football Italia staff

Sassuolo President Giorgio Squinzi said his club sets the template that other Serie A sides should follow.

The Neroverdi had their first ever top flight campaign last season and bought their own stadium, while now stars Simone Zaza and Domenico Berardi are impressing for Italy.

“I saw Zaza against Holland and he played well. I also heard of Berardi’s winning goal for the Under-21 side,” Squinzi told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I think their success is the right recognition for our strategy based on youth and home-grown talent.

“In the opening game, we had a starting XI of Italian players. The Sassuolo model is the right one to follow in order to emerge from the crisis in Italian football.”

Squinzi also commented on reports Juventus already have their hands on the two strikers with specific options.

“We bought Zaza out while Berardi is in a co-ownership deal. We have not promised them to anyone, as we want to focus on them at Sassuolo.”

I like Sasuolo, they are focusing on youth and they have their own stadium though the capacity is not big at least they are moving on the right direction. Hopefully, they will keep up this model and encourage others as well.

:agree:

I like they way Sassuolo have built their team, they have the Juve youngsters but also added Vrsaljko, Sansone and Consigli who are good players.

Plus nice to see another team owning their own stadium.

Wonder if Marko Marin will do an Iturbe/Gervinho?

And if so, every agent of every failing winger out there should come to Serie A and kill it. Nani, Lennon and the rest of those struggling wingers.

Ya, I just realized their capacity isn't that bad either its a 20k capacity for a club who just had a season in Serie A and with no running tracks.
And if the president is not like Zamparini , someone who emphasize on long term project they can easily be a good midtable team ala Udinese in the coming couple of years.

Squinzi is a very wealthy man. Well not stupid oil rich, but still very wealthy. He's the owner of Mapei.

With the right bit of luck, Sassuolo could be in Serie A for a while. They're active in the transfer markets and seem to have a plan and project.

Which is why they're not really an example to the other small Serie A clubs.

Why all the hate for oil rich owners ?

Back in the days when the likes of berlusconi (a complete corrupt mafioso) was spending his money like crazy in the market no one had a problem with it (same as another corrupted guy like cragnotti).

I could never understand the double standard now with the oil barons !

Every team in Italy should be forced to build a new stadium and make sure that nobody builds a stadium bigger than 50 000. Games look half dead everywhere but Juventus Stadium.

Milan teams, Napoli and Roma can have a 50 000 seater
Fiorentina, Lazio 40 000
The rest should not be allowed to have bigger than 25 000.

The sad part is that they do the exact opposite and make it very hard to build your own stadium.

having that said, would be awesome to see sassuolo grow, absorb some fans of other teams and grows out to a title contender over the years trough carefull and well tought out management
