This whole Trezeguet versus Shevchenko argument is flawed because the players are just too different.

If Juve were playing Trezeguet and Del Piero and Milan were playing Shevchenko and Crespo, the arguments have to be Trezeguet v Crespo and Del Piero v Shevchenko.

These arguments inevitably end up going against the poacher simply because of how limited a skill-set they possess.
Thats true in a sense, but Sheva was good enough to put up Trez numbers or better while also being very complete as a striker, plus big game player, but in Europe and League. Thats why I find him better, not by much, but better. There's been plenty of "top" attackers who are or were alot more complete and well rounded then Trez who I wouldnt even compare to him just because he was so more deadly then them. But not when it comes to Sheva or Henry level players IMO.

They're still different types of players.

You wouldn't really compare Shevchenko to Seedorf as well.
Yes yes, we know that, but they are both attackers, he has more in common with Trez then someone like Seedorf too.
