Now it is really official; Juan Manuel Iturbe is a Roma player. Tomorrow, Iturbe will complete his medical tests with Roma. Rudi Garcia wants him on the field training with his teammates as soon as possible. Roma announced they paid €22 million to Verona for Iturbe, plus another €2.5 million in potential bonuses. Simone Scuffet has turned down the chance to join Atletico Madrid, according to reports this afternoon.
The Udinese goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a switch to the Spanish champions, with Gazzetta dello Sport revealing that representatives from the Colchoneros have actually been in Italy to discuss a possible deal.
However, Sky Sport Italia claim that the teenager has turned down Diego Simeone’s advances, because he wants to stay and play in Serie A.
Rumours had suggested that Atleti would offer Scuffet the chance to go on loan to Granada, or possibly back to Udinese for a season.
