I don't get why any team is not pushing for Ochoa. There are teams like Arsenal,Liverpool,Monaco,Milan who would instantly improve upon their current options on GK's if they sign Ochoa(if world cup was anything to go by).I sure as hell didn't watch Auxerre last season but in the world cup,Ochoa showed levels of keeping much higher than, let's say Abiatti, showed in five previous years.

Watch Ochoa sign for some mid table EPL team next season and have a stellar year, while grandfather Abiatti fuck up every now and then to lead Milan to another mid table finish and one more step closer to obscurity.:motta:
Well, he played at Ajaccio, not Auxerre for starters. :p

I thought for sure Milan would push hard for him on a free, as 4 years ago a Mexican football show reported that Milan had a deal in place for him but was waiting for his display at the world cup to finalize the deal, but Aguirre had inexplicably chose Perez over him to start at the WC. :sergio:

And believe me, he is a great GK, I've been following him since the season that Leo Beenhakker debuted him 10 years ago. Hes just awesome. Which still to this day it does not make sense to me as to why Aguirre benched him in favor of an old GK who was way past his prime and had not been a call up in 8 years or so. I think he had the most blocked shots in the Ligue 1 while he was there. Was definitely a major factor as to how Ajaccio managed to stay in top flight for 3 seasons.

And even worse, its looking like Ochoa will sign for a mid table Loliga team. Malaga is the rumored destination. I think.

Claudio Lotito has presented Stefan de Vrij to reporters and made clear that Lazio’s policy is one 'based on facts’.

The Aquile have come under criticism of late from their own supporters for their transfer policy, and for missing out on Davide Astori to city rivals Roma.

However, in completing De Vrij’s signing, the club’s President has taken the opportunity at his presentation to talk up the Biancocelesti’s work.

“We are here today to once again demonstrate the reality of the behaviour and facts about this club,” Lotito began in introducing De Vrij today.

“We know what we want to do. We have goals that we pursue and realise. Our primary objective was to strengthen the defence with two signings.

“De Vrij was our priority. We wanted him, we tried for a long time. Eventually we managed to bring him to Lazio.

“He will be the present and the future of Lazio. This is a player with great potential and great room for improvement. It is not by chance that he was voted the best defender at the World Cup.

“He has shown with us to be professional and correct. He will be a key element of our team. I hope that he can settle in quickly and become an added value for us.

“Ours is a policy of facts. We are not accustomed to making proclamations. I hope that these facts are demonstrated in the acquisitions of Djordjevic, Parolo, Basta, De Vrij, a left-bacl [likely to be Braafheid] and the redemption of Candreva.

“We will try to bring in additional reinforcements for the defence. We are working and are sure that we can achieve our goals. De Vrij will be a flagship for Lazio and even for Italian football at a national level.”

:agree:

Do you think they can reach 4th?
Possible.

Fiorentina would be the most obvious candidate for fourth since they spent so much of last season without Rossi and/or Gomez, so should be stronger.

Still waiting to see how Inter shape up.

Lazio will have the advantage of not playing in Europe, though.
