Hating a rival team, especially with certain history makes sense. But then there are the "fanatics" who get carried away... you should be able to run into a rival fan on the street and not have to wonder if you should be worrying about your safety. That's what doesn't make sense.
Why? Because they won titles? Or because your team lost one?

Well, true. But I see no point of hate.

Dusan still trying to rationalize football :touched:
No, trying to understand why is football any different than life. Because people apply it differently like it's a separate set of mind.

It's like hating Apple because they outperform other companies and take a bigger profit. While at the same time you don't work for neither company and have nothing to do with it.

I'm not sure why an explanation is needed :shifty:
Nor can I understand how that hate appeared.

I hate Inter 'cause I'm quite certain they took part in getting Juve relegated. That I can't forget. The pain back then  They are scum!

Inter fans I don't hate, since I don't hate people per default.

Point of hate? Their "greatest" president, his friends, friends of his friends and their fans all of them used the situation in Juventus in 2006 (death of both brothers, stupidity of Elkans, laxity of our board of directors etc.) against my beloved team and sent them to serie b and you don't understand why we hate them?

Stop acting like all that never existed before 2006.

And we don't know what actually happened in 2006 anyway.

I don't think that's a good comparison. Yeah, you might not work for a sports team, but for a lot of people who they support is a big part of who they are. Most people don't travel to go to Apple headquarters, or walk around with Apple logos on their shirts, or in some people's cases wake up at awkward times on a weekly basis to support them. And rivalries usually exist for some reason or another (whether historical, competitive, local etc) so that comes with the territory.

But yeah, I don't hate people just because of who they choose to support either. I might say shit like "I can't stand Napoli fans" or something, but that's just a generalized statement based on fan behavior, if I met one I wouldn't hate him by default.

I hate Bayern as much as Inter, but basically all my best friends are Bayern fans :D At least those who like football.

Both my husband and one of my best friends are milanisti, and I have other friends that are juventini, romanisti etc. And I hate United and Madrid pretty much in the same first tier of hate but have friends who support them too.

I dunno, I find the level of discussion one can have with rival fans can actually be higher than with fans of the same club, partly why I post here.

So if you do that it gives you a reason to hate a team/staff/players/fans who do exactly the same things as you do?

When you browse other forums you see people reacting in the pretty same way like we do here.

I already mentioned above I don't hate other fans for purely football reasons. I'm also capable of liking other players who play for rivals (like Pirlo). It's mainly just an institutional thing. Though I guess if you're adamant on your own opinion it's hard to explain.

I have never encountered a Milan fan in person who is not a complete idiot and they always use words such as joga bonito, world class, sacchi, possession, Maldini and Van Basten in everything related to football.

    Don't forget 7 CLs.

I hated them and Inter even before I started following Juve.
