But what I don't get is this. The goal-line ref said it wasn't a goal (he was in a better position to see it) but the ref gave the goal anyway. What's the point of the goalline ref then?

The part of the ball that touched the ground was over the line, but I think the entire ball was not. The goal probably won't decide the match anyway.

Well, they act as advisories in all matters. At the end of the day it's the main ref who makes the decision. But it does suck that he didn't listen to the linesman that was closest to the goal. Seems he felt himself that it crossed the line, and asked the 2nd linesman who agreed with that, so then you had a 2 for and 1 against situation.
