Its pretty clear, and from other angles it was entirely clear. He stretched out his leg to hit wasilevski on purpose. And he admitted it aswel.
He was suspended for a few months. Wasilevski could walk again after 9months or more @chester
I can't remember him saying he did it on purpose, but there are images somewere were you can see that he looks for the leg and steps on it, let's just say he took the chance.
But he has been punished, it has been too long and to be honest, if we would sign him and use him on the right spot (not DM, more box to box or, as in his Standard time, more attacking), then he definately wouldn't be a bad signing IMO.
But, since Zenith paid 40MEuro for him and will want to recoup much of that cash, I say no, too expensive.

"This season we’ll win the League, I’m sure of it.” Garcia has told German magazine Kicker.

“The plan is to lead Roma into the European club elite, and even better to win the Champions League with Francesco Totti, he really deserves it after his fantastic career. Francesco is the king of Roma, and a unique genius, but he is also humble, selfless and puts the good of Roma before personal records."

“That’s what makes him a world-class player.”

Despite his lofty goals, Garcia admits that this season is probably too soon for his side to compete for the Champions League.

“A League and Champions League double in 2015? No, it’s definitely too soon."

Manolas 'could have joined Juve’
By Football Italia staff

Roma defender Kostas Manolas has revealed he could have been plying his trade for Scudetto rivals Juventus.

Roma signed the 23-year-old in a €15m move from Olympiacos this summer, but Manolas admits there was interest from the Bianconeri.

“It’s true, Juventus sought me out after the World Cup,” Manolas told il Tempo.

“I also could have ended up at Arsenal, although I never went to London as was reported.

“Now for me there’s only Roma, and I’m very happy to have come here.”

Manolas was dismissed in a fiery clash with Juventus earlier in the season after reacting to a challenge from Alvaro Morata.

Roma lost the match 3-2, and controversy rumbled for days afterward. Manolas however, has no regrets, and says he knows all about the Old Lady’s past.

“I only regret not having won the game. Everything else - Morata’s foul, the referee and the controversy - does not bother me.

“It’s in the past. The day after the game we started to work as we always have done.

“Against Chievo my teammates were great and now we’re thinking about Bayern.

“Have I been told anything about Juve? There was no need. I’ve always followed the Italian League, and I knew exactly what has happened, including in the past.

“Now it’s over and there’s nothing you can do about it. What good is it to still talk about it? We’ll wait for the Olimpico in the return fixture for the rematch which is rightfully ours. I can’t wait.”

On Friday Roma Coach Rudi Garcia declared that his side would go on to lift the Scudetto, as they are stronger than Juve, and Manolas echoed the Frenchman’s sentiments.

“Our goal is to [win the League]. We had that goal in our minds at the start of the season, and now we believe even more.

“We are aware that we have a great team, which isn’t missing anything which is needed to win.”

:disagree: Dumb fuck

This guy is like the anti-Conte with such statements.

Thats a good point. My heart allways bleeds when i see witsel playing deep, running out of position, disrupting the team.

SO much better to watch now that Nainggolan plays, dont have to support and rant at the same time, all the time now :D
True, as DM, Nainggolan is better, Witsel should be used a a playmaker more then as a DM, we have Defour and Nainggolan for that.

I don't get how they don't ban these guys for life for such acts. The least they can give is suspend them double the time the guy they injuried.

Thing is, when defour and nainggolan hold the midfield (as it should be), witsel has no place in the team considering hazard, de bruyne and mertens are all better on the am/w spots

when deliberatly injuring a player, the suspension should be at least the duration of the injury
