RUS wants Toni to represent Italy in the WC.
He is in amazing form, will be very useful, plus with his experience he could help a lot to italian youngsters like Immobile, what's funny? It still hurt that Trap turned his bull mode on and didn't took Baggio back in 2002 :/

Immobile with assist, hope he'll score in 2nd half

Luca Toni is joint Capocannoniere on 20 goals and believes he can take the crown. “At my age it’d be extraordinary!”

The Hellas Verona striker turns 37 next month, but bagged two in today’s 4-0 victory over Catania to catch Ciro Immobile at the top of the Serie A charts.

“I didn’t believe I could win the Capocannoniere award this season, but now I am on 20 goals with Immobile and it would be something extraordinary at my age,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

However, the 2006 World Cup winner has given up on a place in Italy’s squad going to Brazil.

“I don’t need to send Cesare Prandelli any messages. He named his larger squad without me or Francesco Totti, so everyone has to just accept it and stop going on about this.”

Toni showed he’s certainly still hungry for success, as after a brace he was furious with Coach Andrea Mandorlini for substituting him 15 minutes from time.

“I haven’t scored a hat-trick yet this season and wanted to do that so I could give the match ball to my daughter. I am a striker, I really care about goals, but it’s over now and I’m focused on the next game.

“Verona have nothing to lose in the race for Europe and three tough matches coming up. We’ll be fired up and know we can make history. We’ll see where we are in three weeks.”

:sergio: well, Prandelli can go to hell for it

I don't see him being effective against faster defenses. The only time he'll be able to do anything is from corners and set pieces. Italy needs something else.

All Central defenders are no way usain bolts, not even close, wtf you are talking about?! Toni is perfect for crosses, to fight inside the box, he could give a lot to national team, especially in his current form
