Garcia: Conte could be nervous
By Football Italia staff

Roma boss Rudi Garcia has refused to comment on Antonio Conte’s jibe that he is 'provincial’.

The Giallorossi Coach had called for teams to up their game against Juventus to keep the title race alive – a remark that the Bianconeri tactician labelled as 'bar talk’.

The Frenchman though, has insisted that he won’t get involved in a war-of-words, but believes that Conte could be 'nervous’.

“To me, Conte seems a bit nervous. But I have nothing to say on it,” he told Sky Sport Italia after he received the Giuseppe Prisco Award this morning for loyalty, fairness and friendliness in sport.

“I just want to enjoy this day, and that’s it. It’s been an honour to be here at Roma for the last 10 months.”

Garcia then commented on the race for the Scudetto.

“We’ll see what happens tonight [between Juve and Sassuolo]. We just have to concentrate on beating Catania – but our fate is not in our hands.

“At the moment though, everything seems to be going well for us.”

Yeah, so great

A bit like how Brendan Rodgers was cool with Mourinho until he fucked him over. You can't have friends when you are going for the same trophy, every manager will do what it takes to win.

I don't think these kind of mind games have ever worked against Conte's Juve, definitely not in the league. By law of averages we could drop points at any moment, but it just makes it funnier every time Garcia opens his mouth and then we win.

Though in a scenario like this, you'd think we are actually feeling the pressure if we drop points tonight, and mentally that builds up within the team IMO. Garcia is really lucky playing before us and getting all that rest every week. He's due to drop some points, but then again so are we. I don't know how much longer we can hold up the intensity.

Dejan Savicevic: In these last years Juve have been the strongest in Italy but this year they got help from the refs. You could see that in the first 10 games of the season on how things were going to go. I agree with Garcia that Juve got some help. They still would have won but they still got help. About the small clubs not putting effort I don't agree. Mirko should have left Juve.

So are we still in imminent danger of choking away the scudetto?

If Garcia is smart he won't mention Conte anymore to the papers. Conte is cool as ice in press conferences and will destroy any takers

If we lose the remaining matches and Roma win them then the title is theirs ;)

Fuck. I can't tell you how that's taken a load off. Thank fuck Conte got dis. Any other coach on the sidelines, and we would've lost tonight. Maybe except Lippi and SaF. Thank you Conte for relieving pessimists like JcK and Baggio out of their worries. :D
