I mean apart from Juventus game, do the non Italian speaking fans actually watch other teams in Serie A? The reason why non italian speaking, is because the English coverage i receive in my country is pretty poor and embarrassing it makes me doze off compared to the EPL games. I assume the Italian commentators does a much better job in this. I cant even get HD games for Serie A.

And I've just seen Gazzetta write about it :D

Apparently we're just -1 point from Capello's 2005/2006 season which was a record.

Not it to take away from a great Campaign from Juventus but I have to say it's only obvious due to the lack of quality in the league, we can just break away from the rest of the pack.

Thank you for the alternative. HD makes a big difference in football viewing quality along with a good commentary. I hardly been watching any serie A games this season, only watching the Italian teams playing in Europe. Serie A, used to be the best.

Besides Inter, I usually watch whatever other Serie A games are on TV each weekend (or at least watch highlights/condensed versions of matches). Don't really go out of my way to stream other clubs' games though, unless it's a derby or something significant.

I certainly understand what you mean. Serie A coverage has always been atrocious especially when I was back home in Kenya. RAI was just horrid even in our hey days with Italian commentators that could cure insomnia while EPL was all hi tech but still boring to death. [RANDOM] FuckTommy Smyth.[/RANDOM] Here in Stockholm we got lucky when Ibra joined Serie A & we got HD. Sadly Serie A has been relegated to SD if you don't have the expensive sports channels. The Russian sops have been a boon. I must say I have never watched SKY so I can't comment on that but generally Serie A really need to pick up on the international scene.

I rate players on how good they are, DP is more likeable than Totti, but Totti is the better player.
Both are great players, but Ale wins this one. He is more technical, his ability on the ball is better than Totti's, better finish, better at set pieces, and he was focal point of the team that for many years was fighting for the highest achievements.

How is Del Piero the better finisher? Totti has scored 50 goals more in Serie A, playing a good portion of his career as a trequartista.
Del Piero scored more goals overall. Dont forget season in Serie b, one year injury, the tretment he received during Capello's reign, etc... Totti played in Roma, club with moderate expectations, and more tolerate towards seasonal failures, while Ale was pillar of one of the best clubs in the world.

Malago: Italian season below par
By Football Italia staff

CONI President Giovanni Malago has labelled this Serie A season as ‘below par’ beyond Juventus and Roma, saying that something must be changed.

The Italian National Olympic Committee’s head has made clear his dissatisfaction with the strength of the competition in the Italian top flight this term.

“What is coming to an end has not been a great championship, even if Juventus have been monstrous and Roma fantastic,” Malago has commented today on Radio Anch’io Lo Sport.

“For too many months the positions in the League have been locked in a season which has been below par, as has also been shown by the Italian clubs’ path in the European Cups.

“This year clubs do not need 40 points to avoid relegation, they can achieve survival with a lot less.

“There have been so many games that haven’t been pretty, topped with a spectacle in front of quiet stadiums.

“Certainly compliments should be made to Juve and I wish them luck to win the Europa League. Roma have been great, but with those numbers they had to win a championship. We must do something.”

Malago, whose organisation are responsible for the development and management of sport in Italy, was asked what must change.

“Football pays the treasury more than €1bn a year and CONI receives around €10m for its task, we must not forget.

“But you have to wonder why a few years ago the League was the best in the world and now we have slipped back.

“We do not have the money of the sheikhs who have bought big clubs abroad, so we need to find alternatives, with an intelligent policy.

“If I think back to years ago, when our football was at the top, instead of squandering nefarious amounts on signings, Presidents could have invested a few million in stadiums. It was a scandalous choice.”
