I managed to catch just a bit of Montero, but yea, I remember him being dirty as hell with some hectic red cards. But iirc he was also quite a good defender.

Costa is a dirty ass player, he consistently dives and while he may be a good finisher he is a player who brings shame to soccer. Most likely why spain called him up. Negredo has been great for City but Negredo and Llorente are two different types of player and I think Llorente would be more suited allowing their wingers and midfielders to run forward and score the goals.

Calling it soccer is inadvertently apt in this context, as I notice a lot of Americans who don't follow the sport hate football mostly because of the diving aspect. Not that their sports aren't full of clowns who cheat in other ways, but it of course can look ridiculous and unmanly.

A sport where you play and tackle with and against the legs is going to cause a lot of scenarios where small touches take players down, and this has been manipulated over time.

considering how violent american football and rugby are, 99% of sports would look unmanly in comparison, add diving into the mix and it does kinda turn soccer/football into a pussy sport
