I don't understand how people are repeatedly saying that the Milan teams are bad. Milan had a fantastic run from January onwards last season and there is no reason they can't do the same again this time around from the beginning of the season. Inter has a young team and Mazzari did great work with Napoli and there is no reason either that he can't do the same with Inter.

As for the others, Napoli have lost Cavani but brought very good players instead. And all the talk about Benitez is just bullshit, the man has won titles. He won the CL with Liverpool FFS. The base that Mazzari has left and their attacking power can only become better with Benitez's defensive balance, they will do very good this season.

Fiorentina played very good football last season and they have strengthened their squad very much. Their coach seems very good and has an idea and a plan on what to do with the team.

Laugh on the other Serie A teams all you want but the fact remains is that we bought two forwards and still have no idea how they will turn out to be.

Milan started dropping points as soon as they were under pressure. Happened at the start of the season and happened once they started to have a realistic chance of third place. They'll be decent enough this season, but Juve are likely to have to mess up badly to give them (or anyone else) a shot at winning the title this year.

Fiorentina and Napoli are going to be good teams, but I can't see them being a serious threat to Juve.

I can't see Inter doing better than trying (and probably failing) to get the last CL spot. Mazzarri may well do well there, but Inter aren't going to give him a good enough squad to threaten Juve this season.

There was no need for such a revolutionary change at Napoli. They had a very strong base with Mazarri and 3-5-2, they even did very well in the Champions League. Benitez's changes give an impression like they finished 5th so they want everything new, which I find rather weird. If anything goes wrong it sure is gonna be coaches fault, because there was no need for this. They are preparing to play with two winger and have to rely on Mertens (the 26yo guy who did good in Holland.. it gives no guarantees whatsoever) and Callejon (12mln and a nobody really, pulled out of nowhere as a typical Benitez signing). They don't have anyone on the bench bar Insigne, so no depth really. Their fullbacks for 4 man defense are pretty much shit, they are gonna have two big holes. CB position is not even stronger, they are relying on Albiol (another Benitez random signing for 12mln).

I think making significant changes when selling Cavani was a good idea.

Really breaks properly with him and can help them start a new era rather than just living in Cavani's shadow as much.

Now, you are right that it wasn't necessary, and they may well do worse this season than last, but I think it's a good thing in the long run.

They didn't rate Viviano, so didn't take up their option to buy him from Palermo, so they don't have a decent keeper and do need to sign someone.

Napoli, like Lazio, have a one time lump of cash. Where as Lazio had the stock market, Napoli has the cavani fee.

Napoli has a much smaller fanbase, old stadium, much less turnover, compared to us.

They are currently buying players and giving them rather large wages. But can they sustain it ?
No, they arent making debts like Lazio did. But these wages are big, and if they miss 1 or 2 CL's in a row, they are facing a liquidity problem, wich will force sales.

Now, how do they come back from that ? They now have a one time chance, with cavani money, but they wont get that from the players they are now buying.

Napoli's wage bill is still going to be way smaller than Juve's (it was less than half last season), so I don't see the point in the Juve comparison. They can't get to Juve's level, but that doesn't mean they can't handle a couple of big wages and increase their costs a little.

Napoli returning to being a EL level team for a few years is hardly a disastrous worst-case scenario, given how recently they were bankrupt.

If you want to question a team who is increasing costs, I'd be looking at Fiorentina and wondering exactly what their plans are.
