He played 22 games the season before.

His injury was something that happens very veeery rarely and no sane people would expect a player to suffer one. It wasn't a gamble unless you consider any player who missed some games to be a gamble in which case we probably can't buy anyone.

Secco can be blamed for many things but Andrade is surely not one of them.

Read Alen's post. It was big gamble and stupid thing to do from Secco & co. You don't bring a player who spend 9 months on sidelines with that kind of injury.

Any injured player is then. Including Jovetic and keeping Del Piero in late 90s.

You can't blame injuries on sport directors. Andrade was fully healed and suffered the same injury in a freak accident. If he wasn't fully healed he wouldn't pass medical tests.

It was bad luck.

As it turned out, Andrade's injury resulted with transferring Chiellini to CB.

Iirc, we started that season with Andrade and Criscito in the center, while Giorgio played at LB. Andrade's injury, as well as Criscito's inexperience and some poor performances, forced Ranieri to push Chiellini to the center, partnered with Legro.

On the other hand, Andrade's injury and Giorgio's transfer to the center left the left flank empty. And then...

I don't know why you continue to argue this. You are saying that it wasn't a gamble to sign a player who in previous season was 9 months injured. It is a huge one and since it didn't pay off it's natural that person who made a decision for his transfer takes most of the blame. Those kind of injuries are never fully healed.

DD played Chiello in the middle season before.

Did he? I know that the u21 coach was the first one who placed Chiellini in the center. He was a beast there and many wondered why are we wasting him on the left. I guess Deschamps did play him in the center. That 2006/07 season was a pain in the ass with those lousy streams. I missed like 80% of those matches. I kinda remember Kovac and Boumsong playing in the center, but I guess Chiellini was also playing there a lot, because we had Balzaretti.

In any case, Ranieri played him on the left, and that unfortunate injury of Andrade turned out to be very fortunate for Juve, because exactly from that season on Chiellini made a name for himself as one of world's finest Cbs.

I continue to argue because I don't agree with your opinion. Also the info Alen posted is not quite right. A season before we bought him he played 22 games for Deportivo. The injury you talk about happened 1 year earlier in March 2006.

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/j...andrade/leistungsdaten/spieler_7491_2006.html - After healing up he was playing for half a year, 90 minutes every game. He passed medical tests before we bought him too.

I really can't see how you can blame this on Secco unless you really really want to. He had every reason to believe that Andrade will be a strong addition for our weak defence. Shit happened though. Nobody's fault. Just bad juju.

still gotta feel for ranieri :D he prolly had the worst collection of fullbacks in the history of juventus.
I'm not sure. This 2010/11 Del Neri squad is a strong rival.

Grygera, Motta, De Ceglie, Grosso.

It was so bad that Sorensen looked good while playing as FB.

The reason why I remember is that it looked somewhat strange to me to play LB all of a sudden in the middle. But DD was a good caoach and recognized his strengths and weaknesses. Can't say for sure how many games he played there,

Wasn't Molinaro playing as a LB under Ranieri even before Andrade injury? As I remember Chiello always played as CD. Criscito and Chiello were starting pair but the former didn't fit in as he made too many errors so Legro took his place.

I can't agree with you either. How many games have Andrade played here and why is that so? Gamble which didn't pay off. Simple as that. Who is to blame? The person who brought him. If he did succeed Secco would get the credits but since he isn't it's natural that he takes the blame.

And no he didn't play all seasson after that. He played 22 games so let's stop with this.
