They were close to winning it again a few seasons ago but the way they blew it against Samp at home was :sergio:
And they took the lead in that game iirc. :sergio: I wanted them to win the title that year. Seeing Inter winning the tripleta was just :yuck:

And then they lost the final.
Because of the difficulty of knowing if Roma losing to Inter in the Coppa Italia Final that year happened too recently for it to have registered with you, I'm inclined to think you are referring to Samp losing the European Cup Final to Barca in 1992.

What is the basis of their appeal?

Sure, the second yellow was a wrong decision, but I thought there was a long-standing rule that yellow cards can only be appealed on the basis of mistaken identity.

Be $#@! if they were to change that rule, because you would open up the potential for zillions of appeals every season over yellow cards that really aren't worth thinking about.
Well I always thought appeals were there so that players didn't have to miss a game for no reason. Not being awarded the penalty was harsh. Getting a red was extra harsh. Missing the game against Milan is just pointless.

The referees decision still stands: no penalty + second yellow. Just do away with the extra penalty which is not justified. I realize this would open up the potential for further appeals but I'm ok with those as well if they are *as clear* as Cuadrado's situation where it is an open and shut case.

i don't what more impressive.

that the top team in serie a has only conceded 1 goal, or that it's Roma of al teams that has only conceded 1 goal.

however it must be said their oppnents play like crap againt roma,
They're very good in defense and concede very few chances, but the opponents hit the post/crossbar 8 times against them, and they never did. Well, yeah, a post is a wrong shot, but... They're very lucky. Even in the matches, they're having a very easy and well-distributed schedule. Let's hope they get over-excited and overrate themselves, if they do they'll get destroyed in the 2nd half of the season. They're good, but nothing special, honestly.

Was 2001 the last time they won it?
Yeah, but they would've won it easily in 2008 and 2010 without Inter robberies. My gosh, expecially 2007-2008 was something unbelievable. One match out of two at least there was a questionable referee decision. That's what you call "Calciopoli effect". In those year every referee's mistake in Inter favour was conceded and understood, and, when in doubt, referee always decided in their favour. For us, of course, it was the opposite. I got really frustrated watching that league, fortunately those years are over.

There's no question Roma has been fortunate to be 10-0-0. For example, we have better possession, shots attempted, shots conceded, shots on target, etc. but less points.

But even if they've been fortunate, maybe it's a win instead of a tie here and there so they could still easily be something like 8 wins, 2 ties and no one would complain.

I want to see how they react if they lose more than 1 midfielder at a time. Their midfield is what does it for me. They have great chemistry and work rate, they overwhelm teams in the middle of the field.

But they won't lose anyone to rotation since they have 7 days before games so they are in good position to challenge until the end.

Well, we're now far enough into the season that teams will end up having a player suspended - from cumulative yellow cards, if not reds - every other week, so that'll start to have an effect when combined with the normal few injuries you expect over a season.

Roma have Castan suspended for the game against Torino and Benatia, De Rossi, Florenzi, Pjanic are all just one booking away from a ban.

No European football is a huge advantage, but we knew that from the start. What we didn't know is that they would put up a 10-0-0 start, that makes things that more tricky. If by the tricky Jan-Feb period they have a decent lead then we could be looking at a tough situation.

I still maintain we need to see how they react to dropping some points, but fuck knows when it will happen with their schedule.

Have we been not fortunate in our early scrappy wins this season?

We too never lost or key players (pirlo, vidal) for extended period in conte's unbeaten first year.

All this is wishful thinking. Roma are a big worry this year and i never thought they would be this consistent. They are playing impressive football and unless we pick our game i think they will win the scudetto.

True dat.

Wouldn't be surprised if Mazzarri got his hands on one of those watches.
Roma is big worry
Yup. Considering side, that has won 10 games in just as many matches played so far, as a title contender is really hilarious.
