The thing is, these chants are only really targeted at Neapolitans and not other Southern Italians, in fact, other Southern clubs (like Avellino, just down the road from Naples) and Salernitana etc, chant the same things about Naples as well. It's just typically tribal, offensive and boundary pushing football banter. I don't think our popularity in the south will change because of it.

Used to be. United became popular in the entire country based on their succes but city had the bigger manchester based fanbase first.
