Andreas Granqvist has made the most defensive clearances in Serie A this season, with 254.
Sebastien Frey has made the most saves from shots inside the box in Serie A this season, with 52.

lol
But, in Serie A, who made the most defensive clearances using the hands? Granqvist or Frey?

Guys, you are kiddimg ypurselves if you think napoli will struggle withput cavani and hamsik. This would be true if they were to leave on a free, but the truth is napoli wil get closr to a 100 million from the sale of both.

A 100million plus their regular budget can get you sanchez/jovetic, verrati, lamela and nannigolan.
And they already have Insigne too.

They are too overworked, and are playing way too predictable, everything goes to Cavani at all times, they had enough issues with teams reading them easily and neutralizing their countering ways last season with a dynamic go-getter like Lavezzi still around, its just worse now (they should play Insigne more). Scudetto talks allways premature with them, simply not mentally ready for it, and their coach is too onetrack minded (he changes to 4-3-3 at times, but its just half assed efforts).

Napoli have lost possession due to a bad first touch the most times per game in Serie A this season, with 11.5.

This is the key why Naples is struggling now, you can't lost the ball that much because of bad first touch

Palermo should just hire two-three coaches at the start of every season, they're gonna need them later in the season anyway and there's a lot bigger pool of choice in the summer rather than autumn/winter/spring :p

So anyone want to hazard a guess at why Hamsik and Cavani (even missing penalties now) have completely lost form?

Was it the pressure of coming within 3 points of first place?
They depend all season on the same players

both tacticians finding them out + the inevitable drop in form

100 mil landing those players ?

You forgot they also got wages, and napoli's turnover without taking transfers in effect is very low

If they dont make CL, they'll not be buying anything big

also, who the fuck wants to play there ? why would suarez go to napoli and get mugged all the time ?

Don't think it was pressure.

Maggio was out for a chunk of it, and that hurt Napoli a lot. He offers such great width and penetration that Napoli lost a major weapon when he was out.

Saw this the other day, but haven't seen it reported anywhere else:

It has been suggested that the player's poor form may be related to the fact that his wife, Maria Soledad, is presently back home in Uruguay, where she recently gave birth to their second son. Cavani has not seen her in weeks, and will likely not meet his newborn child until the international break in two weeks' time.

Anyway, I'm not sure there is any real cause of the loss of form. It's just natural that you are going to have the odd poor spell, and these are players who've barely had any drops in form in the last couple of years.

Bad luck for Napoli that the poor spells for the two of them have happened at the same time.

I must confess that I did not enjoy Milan getting annihilated, could have done us a HUGE favor by knocking Barca out.

the way Barca played last night, no team let alone Milan stood a chance.
