meh, really wanted to watch this game. I really like Lazio this season.

Despite the obvious fact that Serie a is shit these days, its still hugely entertaining imo.

Imo the league itself is in pretty much the same post-Calciopoli standart it has been in since 2006 and hasn't improved much or got worse over the past 6,5 years, at least not radically.

Still better than EPL though.
In terms of entertainment or strength?

If its the latter; not even close. The Serie A has declined much more than the EPL.

I beg to differ. even post calciopolli teams like Milan, Inter and Roma actually meant something in Europe. Now with the exception of Juve Serie A teams in Europe are an absolute joke.

Italy hardly had more than 2 strong teams at once though, those three teams you mention peaked at different seasons after 2006, it's not like they were consistently competitive in Europe. Joke or not, Milan made it to knock out stages at CL, also Inter, Lazio and Napoli are all still in the EL, basically it's just Udinese and Roma being an absolute jokes so far. :p

Lazio's change of tactics at halftime was very odd.

In the first half, they were absolutely strolling it: a goal up and keeping comfortable possession for extended periods.

Then they go and drop Cana back from midfield to defence to make it a back five.

That meant that it was much harder for them to keep the ball or to put any pressure on Palermo high up the pitch.

Lazio went deeper and deeper and it wasn't a surprise when they conceded.

Petkovic does seem to have a habit of being unnecessarily cautious when playing away from home.

I've been banging on about how good Lazio's midfield has been this season, allowing them to do very well despite their defence just being okay. Well, today you could see what happens when the midfield doesn't give good protection and the defence actually has to do the bulk of the defensive work.
