too bad nastasic is leaving serie a
remember the days when players like Pastore, Sanchez, and Nastasic went Milan, Inter and Juve? When young talent was kept within the league?
Sad to see whats happening
I think Serie A has hit its lowest moment right now. But this is actually a good think. From now on, it's upwards. I really believe in that. In 5/7 years or stg Serie A will be the 2nd greatest league in Europe.
TV revenue in Serie A is more than double of Bundesliga, it's larger than in Spain. The thing is that in Spain Madrid/Barca get stg like 70% of the whole money. In Serie A it is very well distributed. Small and medium teams are getting stronger. Juventus is back, Roma is back to investing decently, Napoli is growing. You see Udinese, Fiorentina, Genoa, Parma, Bologna, etc, getting nice young players, great scouting work. They are all competitive teams. Traditional teams like Torino and Sampdoria are back. Juventus will be the greatest thing to Italian football now - back to one of the top European teams.
The crisis is basically in Milan. But Inter have already cleaned their house and they'll be competitive again pretty soon, this season in Serie A and they'll be back in Europe in the next years. Milan is quite screwed right now, but I guess in 2/3 yrs they'll be back.
If you compare Napoli, Udinese, Genoa, to 5 yrs ago, they've grown a lot. It's only a matter of time till it gets its relevance back.
