Napoli & FIGC raided by police
By Football Italia staff

Italy’s financial police raided the offices of Napoli and the Italian Football Federation on Wednesday to acquire paperwork.

The Guardia di Finanza confiscated documents at the request of the public prosecutors office in Naples.

Reports suggest that magistrates are investigating the economical aspect of certain player transfers and fees paid to agents as part of those deals.

Police spent around 30 minutes at the FIGC’s offices in Rome, while they left Napoli’s Castel Volturno HQ after around two hours.

Napoli statement:

It was to gain information around an investigation started in 2007 by the Naples Tribunal, the contents of which are not known.

With regards to this, we underline that the club, its representatives and directors are not under investigation.

The club stands alongside the magistrates in every activity aimed towards ascertaining the truth.

There has been merely the acquisition of documentary information on some players, but nobody is under investigation, nor are there any charges.
