Inter Milan sells stake to Chinese investor group

Italian football club Inter Milan says that a group of Chinese investors is to become its second largest shareholder.

In a statement Internazionale Holding, the parent company, said the group would acquire a stake but that the Moratti family would retain control.

It also said it would build a new stadium in partnership with a unit of China Railway Construction to be completed in 2017.

The Serie A club is looking to increase its presence in Asia.

The location of the new stadium has not yet been decided, the statement said.

The club said Kamchi Li, Kenneth Huang and Fabrizio Rindi would become members of the board of directors as a result of the investment.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Calling it a "new phase in the life of the club", Inter said the move was "aimed at expanding its presence in the Asian markets to raise new resources for the enhancement of its international future development and winning perspectives".

With Uruguay out of the Olympics, I guess that Cavani will play against Juve in the Supercoppa. Will he?

Napoli are doing excellent in the friendlies even without Cavani. It's gonna be tough in China.

I would guess that he would go on vacation now, rather than go straight from one season, to the Olympics, to the Supercoppa and straight into the next season.

Very possible. Hopefully it will happen. He did have a month vacation, or so, between the end of the season and the preparations for the olympics, but it will indeed be strange if he immediately joins his club.

Cavani was absolutely dead material at Olympics, his mind was somewhere but not on the field
It's funny to see so many players who talked a great game about the Olympics for months either not turn up or look completely empty at the tournament. Maybe he is just knackered, but the Olympics should be plenty of motivation.

Uruguay team was bad but a bit unlucky too, did u saw Suarez moment yesterday?
No, because I was at another group game. When I saw Uruguay in their first two games Suarez was their best attacker, and Ramirez had a few cameos.

Football is the only sport where Olympics don't guarantee highest motivation.
Yes, the CL and WC are just so massive. Still, I'd go all out for an Olympic gold medal, personally.

From the highlights of Napoli's friendlies, it looks like Pandev is enjoying his best form in years. With the absence of Cavani everything goes through him in attack and he's been terrific. That fucker always scores against us. And then there is Hamsik who does the same as Pandev whenever he plays Juve.

I hear Vidal is in tackling and injuring players mode :D
