Imagine us saying Marotta was allowed to have 3 years to build the squad. This forum would turn into WW3.
With all due respect to Roma, even if they have finished above us in most seasons of the last 5, our goals/ambitions and theirs are decidely different. them ending outside CL place isnt a disaster, but something that happens now and then, while for us its total failure and clear loss of prestige.

That might be true, but Roma's fans all have delusions of grandeur and expect their team to be challenging for the Scudetto or at least be in CL places. But yeah obviously in reality our ambitions are much more lofty than theirs

19m, why the mocking? Was he bad? been pretty good the times I seen him for Roma, but he is a pretty raw talent, but worth taking the gamble on. And in general I dont get this constant mocking of Roma, it was obvious that they are quite clearly a long term work in progress, decent amount of reshuffling with a rejuvenated squad, totally new one. Will take time, especially with a questionable rookie coach like LE. They have patience, I doubt its there goal to be much successful this season, prolly will be ok with Europa League spot.
Finally a voice of reason over the previous posts. People need to understand that their expectations and pressure are much different than ours and their mercato/season can't be compared with ours based on who ends upper in the table.

What I dislike more about this Roma side is what's looking like Enrique's stubbornness. The guy is so attached to Barcelona's mentality that he doesn't change a thing in his system for the better of the team and based in the material (players) he has. I'm talking about Borriello here. It's obvious they need a primapunta to put the balls in the back of the net, but no, he keeps trying to emulate a Messi out of a raw Lamela or an old Totti. Plus, why aren't guys like Pizarro and Cassetti playing instead of Gago and Taddei? I don't get it.

Osvaldo has worked out for them, even if I agree Borriello been ignored too much. But especially dont get why he ignores Pizzarro so much, even if he has had health problems.

If it wasn't for Calciopoli, Roma would have been relegated till now.
What makes you say that? Or chalk it down as one of those "amusing" laughs?

Don't take everything I say literally :D

My point was, they wouldn't have finished where they did the last four-five season if it wasn't for calciopoli. Hell, they almost got relegated a season or so before Calciopoli struck.

I know, we all know obviously, that they by virtue of just being there after calciopoli became Inters only competition by ending up 2nd several times. Even if I think Milans calciopoli effects were vastly exaggerated. Give Roma props for what they attempted for couple seasons, even if they wouldnt been there without calciopoli (would still have had the CL spots they got, was before likes of Napoli and such improved).

What are the Roma jokes about? Who here claimed that they had a supper dupper mercato and will be scudetto challengers?

I bet it was Suns. He says that about 4-5 teams every year. Last year it was Genoa iirc. :D
It was me. And I don't say that 4 or 5 times a year.

I never said Roma or Genoa would get the Scudetto. I was just impressed with what they bought. Seeing a small team like Genoa signing players like Veloso and Rafinha that've been linked to big teams around Europe impressed me and a whole lot of other people.

Seriously, fuck Luis Enrique. He is riding Barcelona's dick way to hard and he's trying to spread the virus in Italy. Fuck him, I hope that he gets sacked and that he will rot in the Segunda División for the rest of his career.

Fuck him.

the season is long guys. you can talk at the end of the season and about their mercato but not yet its premature. i still think they are going the right path, they have a plan there
Yeah but if that was us we would be calling for the heads of the management and coach.

I havent seen those games (except 1), he has suffered as Trequartista?
I wouldn't say he's suffered.

He just hasn't been as incisive - either with running or passing - as I look for a trequartista to be.
