That's probably because he's not that good a player.

Same goes for all Roma's signings - with the exception of Lamela, who does have potential.

I actually think that Pjanic has a great potential. We must remember that he's 21 and he plays really mature for his age. He's got the talent and he needs to get used to his new position. He started in the opponents box, then he was a typical AMC and now he's playing much deeper.
Some bad injury aside, I am pretty sure that he'll be an excellent midfielder.

They lack a player who is unpredictable and inventive. As much as Menez and Vucinic didn't offer to much they'd always create a spark out of nothing.

He's a tidy enough player.

I just don't see him making significant contributions on a regular basis.

What a steal Lamela was. 23 million, was it?
19m, why the mocking? Was he bad? been pretty good the times I seen him for Roma, but he is a pretty raw talent, but worth taking the gamble on. And in general I dont get this constant mocking of Roma, it was obvious that they are quite clearly a long term work in progress, decent amount of reshuffling with a rejuvenated squad, totally new one. Will take time, especially with a questionable rookie coach like LE. They have patience, I doubt its there goal to be much successful this season, prolly will be ok with Europa League spot.

Yeah, he was pretty useless and wasteful. And why the mocking? Because that's half the fun of being a football fan for me. And Roma in particular because of the amount of excitement they were getting over their mercato and the constant comparisons to ours.

I heard so many praises for Angel but this was the 4th or 5th time I watch him this season and in all 4-5 he was below average, even shocking in defense on some of the matches.
He started the season very strongly, but strictly offensively, wasnt scrutinized much defensively, havent seen much of their games recent times, but I can picture the kind of defensive performances he has put in, because from the get go it was obvious he is pretty raw in that department. Mainly offensively is where he impresses, matches I seen was more or less their main attacking weapon.

Osman due to the amount of double standards between ours and their mercato, Sabatini and Marotta etc.
lol that's such BS, I don't think anyone said that they had a better mercato. Most of the people, including me, said how they can easily finish out of top 3 and how their mercato wasn't a one year miracle. It didn't take Marotta one year to make this Juve, so that comparison is retarded by itself. Praises were fingered at good moves, but I guess people are children if they can't accept it. They clearly had great moves, but it's gonna take at least 3 years for them to start getting some decent results, and it was said in the summer as well.

Lol I know what sparked the initial Roma hype, but it was minor stuff, and it was from the typical few posters who ALLWAYS go with the "grass is greener on the other side" attitude, meaning pretty much every summer praise some random decent Serie A teams mercato, in a weird way to show dissatisfaction with ours. Seen it claimed with Genoa, Napoli, Milan (most consistently with Milan) and this summer yes Roma (some hype was understandable, they signed some decent young talents, plus Kjaer :p). But besides few frantic praise here or there from one or two posters, I havent noticed any serious overrating of their mercato at all. It just seems like it just another horse to beat to death with you guys (I would get if it was to continue to Dusan jokes, but seriously hold it against Roma is bit weird, critique wise).

But in overall, it should been obvious from the get go this Roma project is a long term one. Far from one geared for some success (meaning CL spot), considering its been too many changes plus hiring a very questionable coach in LE (our appointment of Conte was quite questionable too, but so far looks good).
