Milan obviously won't replace the leaving veterans with players of equal talent and winning mentality. Even City and Madrid will find it hard to buy such winners in one mercato. But it doesn't mean that Milan can't buy players who will give more than what those seniors were giving lately. And if that happens, then Milan will be stronger than they were this year.

Afterall, Vucinic, Giaccherini, Vidal, Licht and Barzagli will never be as great as Pippo, Seedorf, Gattuso, Zambrotta and Nesta were, but they beat Milan to the scudetto and they gave much more than Milan's departing stars.

If by special you mean knowing when to foul and get away with it, then may be. Talent-wise Zambrotta was nothing special. He got skinned may a times, mostly against the English teams. Lichtsteiner is already better than pre-2006 Zambrotta.

I've never seen a player like Zambrotta when he was at his primetime before and after - LB/RB/LM/RM, fuckin' horse who can run for 1 week without stopping for a lunch, probably Lahm is on the same level of universality, but he can't play as RM or LM + he is not strong like Zambro was

LOL ABOUT PEOPLE WHO'S DON'T RATE ZAMBROTTA HIGH  Even he is traitor, he was absolutely magnifique - speed, tackles, crosses from both legs, he could cover at least 4 positions on the field, he could run whole day 24/7, i think you should rewatch juventus games in period 2003-2006 e squadra azzurra games too

Zambrotta made a mistake leaving Juve for Barca. If he had stayed in Serie B, he probably would have celebrated Scudetto current days. Both teams Barca and Meelan simply weren't his teams, player even didn't manage to make bench for a few years. Basically he had a wasted career.
