The topic was Hamsik providing excellent passes IIRC. Then Red said that Marchisio does the same thing and I was wondering how many assist both of them have so far. Where did Melo come in? Did you think I was bashing Marchsio or something?

Hamsik is playing a very different role to Marchisio, so comparisions can only be used in a very limited way.

Both have 3, I think. Hamsik scores much more, though. From many aspects they aren't comparable, since Hamsik plays much closer to the box, but what Red said is spot on. Both Marchisio and Hamsik are very reliable players. The Juve/Napoli fans can feel safe when they have the ball.

I have absolutely no idea. In this formation we play I see no place for him. He's one of my favorite players and he's really good, but in a team that has so many holes to fill, spending +20m on Hamsik, when we already have Aquilani and Melo (and we have Krasic which means that we can only play 4-3-3 or 4-4-2) makes little sense.
That's why I think that we're not after the Slovak at all and Nedved is only showing his admiration for Hamsik, which is wrongly read as an indication that we're after him.

Edit: Or maybe a 4-2-3-1. In that formation there is place for all 4 of Melo, Krasic, Aquilani and Hamsik, but for some reason I don't see us playing that formation in the near future. It requires way too many changes and new faces.
