The way Rafa is underrated and his achievements downplayed is a little weird here. If i didn't know better i'd have said that people were biased against him.

His achievements are being downplayed though, that much is obvious. Rafa's record in the CL is a very good one, despite crashing out of the first round this past season, he's reached the final twice and the semi's once in the past 6 seasons. The fact that some of you say that Gerrard singlehandedly dragged them to a win in that final against Milan is rather hypocritical, because if your going to go down that route, i'd say the same of Milito, Mourinho and Inter this season using the same logic, no?
Fact of the matter is, he is a really good tactician and has overachieved in the CL with a Liverpool squad that is much more inferior to this Inter side. He has done it more than once, so it can't be a co-incidence. He has beaten Mourinho's Chelsea, Mancini's Inter, Rijkaard and Ronaldinho's Barcelona, Capello's Juve and Ancelotti's Milan over the past years. He has outwitted top coaches, he has beaten top teams and all in all he's been one of the better managers in the CL in the past 6 years.
In short, people are being fickle and are not giving Rafa the credit he deserves in this forum.

His past season was just shameful, which obviously has a lot to do with the fact that he didn't care anymore about what happened to Standard. In fact, he made it clear quite a few times that he was only thinking about the WC & his new club.
Players who think (& subsequently act) like that should be avoided at all costs, no matter how good they are.

I guess Inter with Benitez will lose some of its "greatness". But it's not our problem I suppose, just have a look at Liverpool and their current position... CL 05' winning team was created and set up by Houllier, then with RB it was only worse. :evil:
