Viviano: 'Penalty was scandalous!'

Emiliano Viviano accused the referee of a “scandalous” decision in awarding Juventus a penalty.

The Bologna goalkeeper saved Vincenzo Iaquinta’s spot-kick in today’s 0-0 draw, but replays suggest Milos Krasic dived.

“That penalty was quite simply scandalous,” blasted the Italy shot-stopper.

“If we had lost the game by conceding that decisive goal, then it would’ve been infuriating.

“Thankfully Juve didn’t win due to a gift of a penalty, like they usually do...”

Daniele Portanova clearly got out of the way when Krasic ran into the box, but the Serb went over and earned a controversial spot-kick.

Viviano’s save secured a point apiece at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

Last week we had our first penalty of the season, and it didn't exactly change much in a 4-0 victory against Lecce.
Players who say such things should absolutely be punished by the League because not only is it slander but it is also untrue. Juve barely get a penalty in comparison to other teams, until Krasic and his susceptibility to gravity.

For some reason players and individuals are allowed to constantly chip away at Juve's image and it goes unchecked because of the farce that was 2006.

When was the last time we were awarded a penalty before the Lecce game? I think we haven't been given 2 penalties in 2 respective matches in a row in Serie A in a long time now too.

Someone should shut Viviano's pie hole.

Do your thing Alen. When was the last time we were awarded a penalty before the Lecce game?
Tbh, the penalties we were awarded this and last year were mostly inexistent penalties. :D

Last year we got only 4 penalties in 38 rounds. Diego missed against Bari when we lost 1:3, while Del Piero scored against Lazio (1:1), Genoa (3:2) and Bari (3:0)
Only against Genoa we won from a penalty ("like we usually do").

Still, his words were misleading. It's not like these things happen only with Juventus.

After Calciopoli we are one of the 4-5 teams (that play regularly in serie A) who were awarded the least number of penalties. That is a fact.

Now, admittedly, it has more to do with the way we play. We aren't a team that plays much in the box, we don't have players who penetrate into the box and get fouled, and that is the reason why we don't get penalties. We're not even comparable to, say, Milan, who get more penalties in 3 matches than we do the entire season (last year they were awarded 3 penalties on 1 match and we had 4 the entire season). We're not comparable even to teams like Parma or Chievo who too get more penalties than we do. I mentioned the main reason why we don't get many penalties, but the fact still stands that we don't get many penalties and it makes Viviano a liar who must not be unpunished for this. What he said was an attack on the referees. The federation is building an image of an organization that protects its referees, so I wish they'd do the same this time too.

100%. :agree:

Although I think I would accept him go unpunished if they were to let Milos unsuspended for the clash against Milan. :D
