Balo agent: 'Blame Materazzi'

“should’ve protected Mario Balotelli, as his rapport with the club ended when Marco Materazzi beat him up,” said his agent.
The striker completed a transfer for an undisclosed fee to Manchester City last night and the recriminations have already begun.
“When did I understand his rapport with Inter was over? After Materazzi beat him up at the end of the Barcelona game. Mario forgave him, but I didn’t,” Mino Raiola told the Corriere dello Sport.
“Ivan Cordoba’s words pre-season didn’t help him either. Inter should’ve protected him: when you have a talent like this you should help, especially as he doesn’t have the same strong character as Zlatan Ibrahimovic and is still only 20 years old.”
The infamous incident occurred after the final whistle of the Champions League semi-final win over Barcelona at San Siro.
Furious at the jeers from the crowd, Balotelli threw his shirt to the ground. It’s reported that Materazzi caught him in the players’ tunnel and shoved him against the wall.
Materazzi spoke to the media this week insisting there was no problem between them.
“The negotiations with Manchester City were not easy, a bit like Pavel Nedved moving from Lazio to Juventus, but we did it.
“Mario strongly wanted to go to England, otherwise I would’ve opposed the transfer, especially as there were another four or five clubs who wanted him.
“I can say for certain that it didn’t please President Massimo Moratti to sell Mario.”
