A dodgy squad that won the CL??
Yes. And required a back door amending of Rule 1.03 to be allowed into the competition at the expense of another team that should have qualified in their place.

Friends in high places. If FC Porto won the CL and ended up fourth in their league the next season, there's no way in hell Rule 1.03 would have been changed.

Ancelotti is going to flame out in style at this rate. He can only hope that Berlusconi is too preoccupied with possibly winning the prime minister seat back to come after him with a couple of goons with shovels.

Juve Look To Lehmann As Buffon Deputy

Juventus are searching for a top-class backup goalkeeper for next season, and Tuttosport are linking them with Arsenal benchwarmer Jens Lehmann.

The Bianconeri are almost certain to qualify for the Champions League, and are looking to strengthen their squad.

While the midfield is a particularly well known problem area, there is also a need to find a quality reserve for first choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.

Current reserve Emanuele Belardi has looked shaky when he has filled in this campaign, while Jess Vanstrattan is too inexperienced and is likely to return to him native country of Australia.

Tuttosport claims that Juve are eyeing up Arsenal shot-stopper Jens Lehmann. The 38-year-old is the number one for his country Germany, however he has lost his place in the Arsenal first team to Manuel Almunia.

Lehmann has only made four Premiership appearances this term, and is certain to leave The Gunners when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The 2006 World Cup star has stated in the past that he will probably return to play in the German Bundesliga, however he could be tempted by a move back to Serie A, a league he completely flopped in when with Milan in the late 1990s.

Other possible options for Juve include Mickael Landreau, Alex Manninger and Ferdnando Coppola.

If they could get Lehmann for a reasonable price then I'm all for it . I wouldn't go crazy trying to buy him though ; he's in Arsenal's bench because he isn't the keeper he once was a few years back . It's understandable that in his age he wouldn't be able to compete at the highest levels anymore but having him as a second string goalkeeper is a nice idea .

Not to mention the Mascherano ordeal.

Yes. But at what salary, let alone what transfer fee? He'd be a pricey bench warmer, IMO. Even if we can't always count on Gigi's full health.

Not to mention the Mascherano ordeal.
 We won't go there either. The EPL is a clean league after all. :soapit:
