This is what i've been told:

With a fiscal pressure of 50%, the net sum represents the other 50%.

50% + 50% = 100%

Substitute the previous numbers with this:

50% (taxes) + 6 millions (the net sum the player is asking you) = ?

How much is 50% ? If the other 50% is 6 millions, therefore the other 50% should be 6 millions either. The total is 12 millions.

-----------------------------

When a player signs a contract he asks for a net wage . Let's put Drogba would want 6 millions tax free. That means you have to write 12 millions on the balance. In few words, the double of the tax free wage (only if the taxes are 50%).

Your mistake is counting the 50% out of the 6 millions (which is not the total, but the net sum), which gives 9 millions. Your amount of moneys is just the 75% of the total you have to put into the balance. The taxes must be counted on the total, not on the net amount. You start from the net sum, but in a society what matters to finance activities is the total sum necessary, not the net one.

When you have to relate what you spent for Drogba's wage you can't start with the 6 millions (net) but you have to show the sum necessary to have 6 millions net, and given that the fiscal pressure is 50% you have to show 12 millions on the balance.

The only one who cares about the net sum is Drogba. The owners of the society care about the total, on which they have to pay taxes.

I don't think that has anything to do with the federation, it's about ministers, the government!
I'm not sure but i think Berlusconi said he'll change this when he'll become a PM again and i think the 50% taxes are connected to Prodi and the taxes were lower before Prodi became a PM.

I'm not sure at all about this, though.

Adri's Imperatore complex

Adriano’s career is in freefall as San Paolo give him another chance, but he turns on the media and even his agent considers quitting.

The Inter-owned striker has been struggling with injury, poor form and personal problems for two years now and was sent to San Paolo on loan for six months to get back on track.

At the start it seemed to work, but over the past few weeks he has been suspended for headbutting an opponent and walked out of training before an altercation with a photographer.

The Brazilian club had publicly threatened to terminate his contract after docking 40 per cent of his monthly wages, but decided to give him one more chance.

“He has apologised and admitted his mistakes, promising not to repeat them,” explained President Juvenal Juvenicio.

However, the situation is far from calm and Adriano reacted angrily to journalists in his homeland.

When he had originally touched down from Inter in January, he assured he did not want to be called 'Imperatore’, the nickname given to him by the Nerazzurri fans.

“I am Imperatore and you must respect me,” he told the Press this week.

“When I got here I said I didn’t want to be called that, but now I have changed my mind. I deserve this nickname and you cannot destroy everything I have achieved with my hard work in my career.”

There are even reports that Inter are sending one of their emissaries to Brazil to keep an eye on the situation.

It is increasingly important, as whispers suggest even agent Gilmar Veloz is sick of Adriano’s self-destructive ways and is considering quitting.

:agree: Prodi actually boasted of how he was taking more tax off the ordinary Italian than Berlu!:( No wonder he was pressurised into stepping down.

I Apologize For My Actions - Cassano

Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano apologized for his inane reaction following his sending off in the match against Torino, while general manager Beppe Marotta talked about the fans who jeered referee designator Pierluigi Collina.

Following a crazy last five minutes of the match against Torino, Sampdoria immediately did all they could to condemn the actions of Antonio Cassano, who hurled abuse at the referee and even threatened him after getting sent off. Moreover, a section of the home fans sarcastically applauded referee designator Pierluigi Collina, who was present at the stadium.

Sampdoria manager Beppe Marotta acted as spokesman of the club right after the match.

"We apologized to Collina as a club. I'm sorry about what happened," he said, "it was ironic applause, ever since I've been in the football world the referee bosses have always been jeered by the fans."

Cassano himself also formally apologized following his actions: "I apologize to everyone. I did something completely wrong, which compromised the good things we did until that point. I realised almost instantly I had made a big mistake."
