Mancio: Refs help Roma too
Inter Coach Roberto Mancini has claimed that Scudetto rivals Roma have been helped by referees just as much as the Nerazzurri.
The two sides go head-to-head at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza tomorrow night, with the Giallorossi needing a victory to keep the title race alive.
Fans and pundits alike have been quick to state that Inter have received some favourable refereeing decisions this term, but Mancio believes that it is not all one-way traffic.
“Roma have been helped by referees too, just like it happens to any other team,” he noted.
“Nonetheless, it will be a tense clash between the top two sides in the table, which could go either way.”
The Nerazzurri will be without star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic, as the Swedish striker is currently nursing a knee injury.
“I think he needs a rest,” added Mancini. “It will do him good and I am sure he will be ready for the next game against Napoli.”
Argentine hitman Julio Cruz is also set to be left out, so Hernan Crespo and David Suazo could deputise again, although Mancini could decide to switch to a 4-5-1 formation.
Talented youngster Mario Balotelli has been included in the Nerazzurri squad and will be hoping to play a part after his Coppa Italia exploits against Juventus earlier this month.
Inter are currently top of the table with 60 points, but the gap between themselves and Roma could be reduced to six if the Giallorossi emerge victorious at San Siro.
