I am foreseeing a scenario that might make us smile at the end.

Inter are now really really really focused on the Champions League. Ahead of their game against Liverpool they meet:

  • Atalanta (away)
  • Roma (home)
  • Napoli (away)
  • Reggina (home)

Three really difficult games and with their focus on the CL I see them losing a lot of points in the first three games. Their game against Reggina is not that easy and it is only three days before the CL game.

The scenario continues by Inter beating Liverpool and focusing even more on Europe and at the same time we are closing the gap in the table. Inter goes on to reach the final of the CL and we go on to be title contenders.

The scenario gets even better with Inter also reaching the final of Coppa Italia.

The scenario ends by Inter losing Coppa Italia final, the CL final and on the 18th of May, Juventus win against Atalanta where Inter lose against Parma just for all of us to enjoy Chapter 2 of May 5, 2002.
Sounds too good to be true.

This is why our advantage over the other teams is now back and it is stronger than before. It is not only a physical advantage now, it is also mental as this stage in the CL is more stressful.

Yeah but end of the March and April will be real pain for us.

Sun. 30 Juventus v Parma

April 08

Sun. 6 Palermo v Juventus
Sun. 13 Juventus v AC Milan
Sun. 20 Atalanta v Juventus
Sun. 27 Juventus v Lazio

Anyway I`d be happy if we finish 3rd but anything better can`t harm.

I got goosebumps from this, especially the last paragraph :scarf:

You too have made me optimistic, hopefully they both fuck up, but more importantly we don't

18 points in the bag.
Lazio and Parma away from home aren't very good, Palermo we'll win by controversy, Inter by a piece of Ale magic, Milan just by sheer determination and Trezeguet finding his scoring boots once again. Same wuth Atalanta

Inter know they're gonna lose against liverpool so they're just gonna concentrate on the serie a games.

The coming weeks we can expect much "scudetto over CL" talk by them. :rolleyes2

I don't know how will it continue, but they're certainly losing the match tomorrow. Sampdoria is the right opponent to beat them.
If Inter played us, Milan or Roma, even Fiorentina, they'd have given 100% and got away with a good result. If they played Cagliari or Livorno they'd have beaten them no matter what.
But Sampdoria are a team like Udinese or Palermo *. Team that will be underestimated by Inter and yet a team that has the quality to punish Inter.
Samp are very strong at home while Inter are in some sort of chaos.

* In matches against Palermo and Udinese, Inter didn't manage to win this season. 3 draws out of 3. But back then Inter were in much better form and better condition.

Ibra & Matrix Refuse To Kiss & Make-Up

The ongoing row between Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marco Materazzi continues, as the Gazzetta dello Sport reports that both players are refusing to make-up.

The problem between the pair began in the aftermath of Inter’s disappointing 2-0 defeat at Liverpool in their Champions League last 16 first leg tie.

After the match a journalist asked Ibrahimovic why Inter had lost, to which the Swede appeared to blame his team-mate by angrily shouting back, “Ask Materazzi”.

Ever since this incident both players reportedly have not been on speaking terms, and the frosty relationship between the two was said to be a cause of embarrassment for the whole club during a media function in London.

Today the 'Gazzetta’ says that the row between the two has still not been resolved, as each player refuses to give-in to the other.

This is a cause for concern for Inter ahead of their match at Sampdoria tomorrow as both are expected to start.

Nerazzurri captain Javier Zanetti has attempted to play down talk of a row.

“Ibrahimovic and Materazzi are friends and nothing happened between them,” stated the Argentine.

“The locker room is united and compact.”

It remains to be seen during the game at the Stadio Ferraris just how much truth there is in these reports of a falling out.

It doesn't matter. you are assuming everything plays normally, but we know that even if Inter struggle in their matches and play like crap, they will still win because they will get a penalty here, an offside goal there....etc.
