Canna admits Milan dream
Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro is being linked with a sensational return to the peninsula after hinting at a move to Milan.
The World Cup winning captain has never fully settled in La Liga since his move from Juventus in the summer of 2006, despite making 40 appearances for the Merengues.
With Milan looking frail at the back, there has been regular speculation that the Rossoneri may look for reinforcements and Cannavaro may well be tempted.
“Carlo Ancelotti is an excellent Coach – he really is the best,” the ex-Parma man told journalists.
“I would form a great pair with Alessandro Nesta and I have the utmost respect for Kaka who I think deserves to be my successor for the Ballon d’Or.”
Real boss Bernd Schuster has indicated that Cannavaro is dispensable and there is a chance that there may be discussions over a January transfer.
The only obvious problem in turning to Canna is that the 34-year-old would be cup-tied for the Diavolo’s European campaign.

Former Juventus boss Marcello Lippi believes that his former side are capable of winning the league but accepts that Inter are the strongest side in the championship.
The two teams meet in the Derby d’Italia on Sunday, with much more at stake than just three points.
Juventus are fired up for the encounter at the Stadio Olimpico, following their demotion to Serie B last year.
The Bianconeri have made an excellent return to the top-flight this campaign and currently sit in third position, just four points behind leaders Inter.
“It will be a high quality game,” Lippi told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“For Juventus this game is not just a normal game against Inter, but it is a game to prove their supremacy.
“For sure Inter are the strongest squad in the championship but Juve are also playing well and it is possible they could overwhelm the difference in points.
“Who will win on Sunday? It is a game that you can’t predict – anything could happen.”
Lippi had two hugely successful spells at Juventus, winning virtually every domestic, European and world title on offer. However his time at Inter was less successful and he was sacked in 2001.

Mutu Falls Asleep In The Changing Room!
Adrian Mutu was so exhausted after his scintillating display against Napoli on Wednesday evening that he fell asleep in the Fiorentina changing room after the game.
The Romanian superstar was in unstoppable mood in Florence, going on a number of dizzying runs and setting up Christian Vieri’s winner in the 1-0 victory.
His efforts obviously took their toll on him and while the rest of his Viola team-mates were taking part in the post-match warm-down, one of the players noticed that Mutu was missing.
A member of staff went back to the changing room to find Mutu sloped down on the bench fast asleep.
Fiorentina boss Claudio Prandelli clearly had no problem with his star-man taking a nap and left him there to sleep off his tiredness.
“He was clearly tired,” admitted the ex-Parma boss. “Did we wake him up? Certainly not. We left him to sleep and we put a cover over him.
“Adri is a great champion and always has the desire to give his utmost. He deserves a bit of rest.”
Prandelli will be hoping that Mutu wakes up in time for this evening’s clash with Lazio at the Stadio Olimpico.
