The Team Of The Week:
Tactical Formation: 3-4-3
Goalkeeper
Dida The three points Milan claimed at Chievo have the Brazlian keeper’s name written all over them. His save on Baronio’s blast was possibly the best of the season.
Defenders
Dellas Finally the Roma defense resembled a real one. A lot of the merit for this needs to go to the Greek giant, who is able to give his best when fielded as a true ‘old-school’ sweeper.
Barzagli The Palermo defender played a fantastic match at Brescia. Every cross sent into the box by Brescia was his prey.
Sensini The Argentine national team might want to recall this immense veteran of the game.
Midfielders
Baronio The Chievo midfielder is going through a great moment of form. Only a Super- Dida denied him a much deserved goal.
Camoranesi ‘Camo’ has never delivered impressive performances with such continuity in his career. Another miracle signed ‘Fabio Capello’.
Parisi Gave Fiorentina a tough time throughout the entire match. Is both a great midfielder, and when needed, a solid defender.
Corini Directed the Palermo orchestra like a true maestro-The out-of-favour Guidolin needs to offer many thanks to his skipper.
Forwards
Langella His speed devastated the Lazio defense. No-one expected the Cagliari player to do so well in his first Serie A season.
Cassano Immense at Siena, where he assisted all four of Roma’s goals. This ‘other Cassano’ must now consistently become the ‘true Cassano.’
Ibrahimovic Pure class. The former Ajax star might lack true marksman abilities, but his technique and vision are out of this world.
Coach
Arrigoni His modest Cagliari currently sit in the table's 4th spot while playing an offensive style of football. A good example other smaller Italian clubs should try to follow.
