I don't think anyone really knows what this means in the longterm. All the reporting seems to be that Trump is forcing Bibi to end this before he takes office, but then Trump was the candidate Israel hawks wanted all along so :boh:

iirc his campaign received more than 100mil from Miriam Adelson whose goal is occupation of the West Bank

With the US bank rolling Israel but now needing to rebuild LA, I think there has to be restraint. With Israel mobilising in Syria and bombing Lebanon as well as continuing to flatten Gaza, I think the American people would riot if the money wasn't spent on the US. Also, imagine the insurance companies and businesses that will go bust after the wildfires then having to rebuild some of the most expensive homes in the country, it's something that the US government will have to address.
