Really sad to see Iran at this stage at the moment. I do not only mean the (potential) war with Israel, but the country as a whole. It was one of the richest countries in middle-east, very progressive and 'friendly' to every culture. They have beautiful cities and history. Now it is nothing more than a muslim regime with pigs as leaders. Such a shame for the people who live in Iran, especially the women. The mass execution of 18.000 protesters said enough.

Hopefully they'll get brighter days in the future, it was such a beautiful country.

it's still a beautiful country with many riches and it's friendly to every culture that wants to visit.

don't fuck with the government and they will leave you alone. tourism is still a important industry in Iran.

btw that friendliness with cultures is what resulted in mullahs being in power anyway. thank you britian.

Iran holds foreigners prisoner to exchange them for their own subjects.

I would not recommend visiting.

Well, because it is possible for a country to hold some people prisoner and not others.

I did not realise your world was this binary, apologies.
what a a stupid conclusion.

you tried to do a gotcha moment. i called out your shit from someone that has experience visiting the country first hand. and now this is your fall back response.

Several Belgians have been held prisoner when visiting and it has been a real mess getting them back to Belgium.

I really don't know what your angle is here. I mean, this is a very real tactic used by the Iran regime and it has been used for quite some time now. I don't know why you'd act as if it doesn't happen. I'm sure some people have visited North Korea without issue. That doesn't mean it's the best place to be as a tourist.

I didn't even think Americans were allowed to.
you are, but need visa. doesn't mean you won't be under more watch when they interview you when you get in the coutnry about why you coming, but yes you can.

now if you go around the country trying to video tape their nuclear facilities, yeah they will arrest you. but guess what if you go around usa nuclear facilities trying to video tape them they will also arrest you in usa.

apparently only the "good guys" are allowed to arrest suspicious people. "bad governments" should let people spy on and murder inside their countries and no interference should be done.

when you visist a country. you have a duty to understand local laws and whats allowed and what isn't

you have a duty to understand what can get you in trouble and what can't

being a "foreigner" is no excuse

and that applies to every country. many other countries hold foreigners in prison, inlcuding western ones for breaking laws. why is Iran different? the belgians should have done their research.

They are usually detained without reason initially and then after months of incarceration the charges are vague and mostly limited to "espionage".

I sincerely hope you're trolling, because it appears you know nothing about the subject.

What gets you in trouble is going to Iran. Just don't go.

Iran holds foreigners prisoner to exchange them for their own subjects.

and definitely not this guy. This kind of shit gets people in trouble. It’s not just harmless trolling.

I'm going to ask you something you do not very often.

Sit down. Think.

Does a country like Belgium have the means to invest in destabilizing another country or region? And if it did, would it send people who were literally arrested the minute they got there?
