what is the goal here from Hamas perspective? They're just gonna get pummeled 100x worse no?
There are rumors that Saudi Arabia wants to normalize relations with Israel to further isolate Iran. Hamas, an Iranian proxy, is forcing Saudis to take side and generally muddy the waters. Hezbollah, another Iranian proxy, alluded to this in their statement.

No one wins more than Israeli hawks. Win win for them. No more talk of a 2 state solution, no more holds barred. And of course dragging america into eventual war with Iran.

If they manage to sabotage Saudi Arabia and Israel relations then it would be a win for Iran. IMO they just want to preserve the status quo and if Saudis and Israel resume normalization it’d be a big loss for Iran.
As for war, I don’t think neither Israelis nor a Iranians want it. US hawks of course won’t say no to any war.

Gotta make some war to get out of this current debt.
That’s a very stupid comment.
