You can't just wipe out a whole group of people in a day and not think it will bring problems, even for israel. If not tomorrow then wait half a year, one year or two and you will see the same story again. Victory would imply that something changed while in reality nothing did.

I'm really sorry if you feel that this is a win for gaza, because in such scenario there is no hope for them at all.

I would think that them stopping has much more to do with outside forces then the ones coming from gaza, because we can see that they have little to no regard to what people from gaza say or do.
The outside forces were supporting everything done by Zionists, if you mean by outside forces USA. Other than that, there is nobody that can make pressure on Israel from outside. The resistance in Gaza made pressure by targeting the main airport in Israel, and the nearby Zionist settlements. The Zionists who were living in these settlements were having their tents in front of the house of Netanyahu asking him to stop the war because they were forced to be in streets. That is the only thing that made Zionists stop the attacks. Otherwise, they would have continued shelling Gaza killing thousands while no government in the world interfere...

Israel is to ease its blockade of Gaza to allow in aid and building materials, Israeli officials said.

Btw, they have sadistic way of entertaining themselves which i have heard from Palestinians. They just wait people to rebuild their houses and settle inside to return with their bulldozers. They don't interfere until the building is complete. Like numbnut kids who are destroying ant nests, watch them rebuild it only to destroy once again.

Israel didn't stop the attacks, they just postponed them. They were loosing the PR war so for now they will keep quiet and then after some time again continue what they have done. What victory is this, this is a ceasefire not a peace treaty there is a big difference between those, open your eyes. They are still on the same blockade, no airport and no port.

I'm not pro israel, but you make it sound like it was some sort of big achievement that was made from gaza side, no israel just decided they will continue later and that's about it for your victory.

The people of the West Bank should work now to get rid of Abbas and his gang. That is the only way things will improve...

Gaza won because Zionists did not achieve anything of their targets in Gaza. You just have to bear in mind that Gaza is fighting alone. All the countries around Gaza are either Zionist or just neutral. When freedom fighters alone force a power like "Israel" to stop its attacks on Gaza, that is definitely a victory. Now, Zionists know that if they come back, Gaza will hit back directly.

For those who compare this with 2012 results, you have to take in consideration that Gaza has borders only with two "countries"; Israel and Egypt. In 2012, Israel was attacking Gaza while Egypt was opening the crosspoint with Gaza. The regime in Egypt at that time was sympathizing with Gaza. Now, the criminal regime in Egypt is just worse than Israel in dealing with Gaza.
the same criminal regime that brokered this deal :touched: any way lets hope this peace lasts. the thing is if it wasn't for this cease fire the attacks would've continued and the humanitarian situation would be getting worse and worse. i hope now that there are plans to re-open the border openings there wont be a need for tunnels and the destruction is sorted out.

in no way am i suggesting egypt's stance has been ideal with this situation, yes the boarders were locked tight and the media was in a league of its own spewing hate and in fact at some points it was even worse than the isreali media but at least they managed to broker a cease fire that would stop the bloodshed and start a lifting of the blockade.

    Meanwhile in the north:

    Syrian war trickles into Israel

Heavy fighting is being reported between Syrian rebels and armed forces loyal to President Bashar Assad close to the Quneitra Crossing between Syria and Israel.

According to witnesses, a part of the Quneitra crossing has caught fire, including on the Israeli side on the Golan Heights, and mortar shells have landed in agricultural fields on the Israeli side.

An officer in the Israel Defense Forces has sustained light to moderate wounds, and the army has declared the area around the crossing and Mount Bental as a closed military zone.

The exact identity of the rebels fighting near Quneitra remains unclear. Observers surmise they either belong to the Free Syrian Army or the Islamic Front, and it is not the first time they have tried to take control of the area.

Al-Jazeera reported Wednesday that the Syrian opposition captured the Quneitra Crossing. According to the opposition's Facebook page, the Free Syrian Army is the rebel force that took control of the crossing.

The IDF on Wednesday were reacting cautiously to the development. Farmers in the Quneitra Valley were asked to keep their distance from the border fence. The army asked farmers in other nearby areas to be careful. Restrictions along the Golan Heights border stem from fear of errant fire from Syria, including the closing of Route 98 from Ein Zivan to El Rom. However, tourists in the area related that they did not receive any special instructions and did not know about the road being closed.

Shefi Mor, who is in charge of tourism for Merom Golan, told Haaretz that the kibbutz's holiday resort is fully booked, that the Golan is full of tourists, and that no one has received any orders to evacuate. The situation is similar for farmers, according to him. Some went out to work their fields, while others opted to stay away from them on Wednesday. "We've heard a lot of explosions," said Mor.

On Saturday night, five 122-milimeter rockets were fired at the Israeli side of the Golan, causing no injuries. Israeli soldiers and police searched the area for remains of the rockets. A security source as well as IDF officials said the five rockets were fired on purpose at Israel and were not a result of errant spillover from the fighting between rebels and government forces. Observers say a Palestinian faction was behind the fire, although a security source told Haaretz the exact identity of the rocket launchers had not been discerned.

A rocket was also fired into the Golan Heights five weeks ago, landing in an open field next to an IDF post. The IDF returned fire at targets in Syria. Last week an errant mortar shell fired from Syria landed in Israeli-controlled territory, and the IDF responded by firing a Tamuz missile at a Syrian position in the region from where the shell originated.

The IDF at the time commented that it fired back after several such incidents and after submitting a complaint to UN peacekeeping forces along the Israeli-Syrian border.

    Crystal clear brooks

    When the time comes

    And the last day dawns

And the air of the piper warms

The high crags of the old country

    When the holy writ blows

    Like burned paper away

    And wise men concede

That there’s more than one way

    More than one path

    More than one book

    More than one fisherman

    More than one hook

When the cats have been skinned

And the fish have been hooked

    When the masters of war

    Are our masters no more

When old friends take their whiskey

    Outside on the porch

    We will have done well

    If we’re able to say

    As the sun settles down

    On that final day

    That we never gave in

That we did all we could

So the kids could go fishing

    In crystal clear brooks.
