The EU is generally worse off than the US at this point. European banks took on more leverage than US counterparts (hard to imagine), worse debt-to-GDP ratios for several countries, and worse bond market situation for several countries. Not to mention the fact that nations in the Euro have no control over monetary policy, which is why Greece should have left the Euro.

For now, creditors still have more faith in the US and also the US Dollar.
And done what exactly? Roll over and die? Yeah, the drachma, that would have saved Greece.

Why do you think that the EU is a federal state? The UK is not the same as Spain, Holland is not the same as Denmark. We're not the European version of the US.

It's not doom. We have an ugly economic system that needs to have a massive purge. The fact that we don't allow for the purge is what spells doom.

Sorry, I'm not a Keynesian who says "all is well" no matter the state of the economy.
Have you glanced outside and compared our living situation to that of just about everybody else on the planet, Andy?

I don't think you have the proper foundation to understand why Greece should leave the Euro and repudiate all debts, Andries. Trust me, austerity measures are not the way to go.

You know what's your union's problem Andries? You're simply too many to agree on something that isn't in the interest of, well, all. And this emerges when discussing international issues and recently you had your issues even when discussing your own issues.

So no, I don't expect not for another century that the EU would actually benefit or shift sides and be useful to the Palestinian side of the conflict. The U.S have a much better chance to change than your union will ever hope to have.
The EU takes very swift decisions that are not in the interest of all when it comes to internal matters. But as you can imagine most countries are reluctant to have their foreign affairs departments run by the EU.

There were old people, children, women, rabbi, priest, imam, parliamenters, activists, engineers, journalists, various people from 32 different country to prove their peaceful purpose.
Somewhere down the line the thread strayed for a moment (not suprising) but thats a really good point. It wasnt a muslim or an arab thing, these activists did it for a humanitarian cause, its simple as that.

Three countries voted "No" for having an international committee to investigate the Israeli attack on the ships...

These countries are: USA, Netherlands, and Italy.

Berlusconi is a criminal just like than Netanyahu.

The other EU countries abstained from voting.
    So who voted yes? :shifty:

From that article you gave, I can see that some in Italy (probably those are members of the opposition parties) are seemingly shocked by Italy's vote.

If all the activists have been deported, what happens to the stuff they were carrying? And what happens to the ships?
They will be used to fund Israel's doomsday machine.

The stuff were stolen as usual. The ships maybe sent back later or stolen too. It depends on the generosity of Zionists and how much they think they will need these ships.

Well, it is shocking indeed. At least, they could keep silent about it. Why would they refuse? Simply idiots.

That cunt always looked like a close friend of Erdogan.
When I saw him crying in Jerusalem few months ago, I knew that idiot was Zionist more than the Israelis themselves.
