And it is really hard to understand you Turk if those answers are really true. I mean you don't like Itihad and Teraki, you don't sympathize MHP, but at the same time you deny or don't care what they did to the people you mentioned. you want sheria (Ottomans back) and sometimes you sound like you support "laiklik" at the same time. what are you? :D

There must be some leader you follow (except Ataturk). Thou even I am not sure if you support Ataturk who ended Ottomans..

Turk's one and only favorite is Fatih Sultan Mehmet. It's a good choice actually although my sympathies go to Murat I.
I am not any good with their history, but I will check that later to see what Turk (the member) is about, I am curious :D

indeed crazy, they have their men in every department of state and nobody knows which country(countries) are supporting them.

don't use that word btw, if you say it on phone they are chasing you :D
So you you believe in it, you know there are those who claims that these are all nonsense and that it is a revenge for something different. "Erdogan cleaning his enemies".

what do you think of Erdogan? it seems he is doing a good job, bringing many things to light. He has a tough job to do thou. Hot headed and not good when he speaks :D but it seems he is much better than the previous parties..

:smoke:

My favorite from those old discussions was Rebel. I was cursing and insulting left and right and he was the one who was annoyed more than everyone else, only because i called him a plagiator. :D
:D

I loved that evil side in you, you know that, that because I knew later you were not any serious, it was good fun, you must be number one in offending :D

Erdogan is a prime minister who wants to change a lot of things to good from bad.but he isn't allowed to do it.you know that we have plenty of ''undemocratic attempts'' in past.

yup! and this Ergenekon Trial is a good "darbe" for those who wants to stop him if you know what I mean.

Even thou Erdogan said very stupid things in past before he became prime minister, but he is doing good so far imo. I don't think or believe he wants to change the country to Islamic nation like many were afraid of that.

He is good with the minority in Turkey, and his political relation is good with other nations. The way he reacted against Israel (now back to topic finally :D) is something I do respect. Even thou it is hard to stand against the army who has deep relations with states and Israeli agency..

I hope he can succeed in the future, it seems to be the best solution for the country (en hayirlisi). As long as he keeps it this way, and keep the state away from the religion, he will be successful, even thou we know his past connection with Erbakan and Fethullah, that always leave question marks in head..

Thou I think Abdullah Gul is the better leader. (sanki o herkezle daha esit mesafeli).

Erdogan's honesty about aggressive attitude against israel is questionable though. We are in a shameful alliance with usa and israel.we are continuously buying weapons and military equipments from them.we have become too much dependant.

i know those aggrements are nearly 100 years old but he must freeze them as people's patience will end soon.

Still, I wouldn't carry symbols like that if I were you, maybe you didn't suffer from them as much as Armenians, Syrians, Lebanese, Greeks Assyrians and others, but you should understand and be against an empire like that for their ugly crimes. They were not any better than Israel, but even uglier. And are no different than the "empire" we have today.

Why not wishing an end to these empires instead? wouldn't that be a better wish? or are you after revenge, and you want these wars to long forever?
lets bring back the Spartans as well :)

well a lot of nations lost lands and got over it and then lived in peace later. That mentality will not take you anywhere Rebel. Isn't the suffer enough all these years? The way you see is no different that the other side does. Why not divide the land to two and live in peace? or the fight should go on until the last drop of blood? you may think different, but I am not patriotic like you guys, some sacrifice from both sides could solve this, am I thinking wrong? After all we are all humans, none of us are any better than the other..
snoop making sense !!

We offered them the land occupied in 1948 for 18 years from 1990 to 2008 and this massacre was the reaction. There is no point in talking with Israelis except by weapons and military actions.
dont you realize with that mentality what the end result will be ??

Your favorite is a guy who was captured by the Mongols, held in a cage as a trophy, used as a footstool by the ruler of the Mongols while the normal Mongol soldiers were spitting on him and pissing on him and who killed himself because he couldn't handle the humiliation ?
And plus he had a giant garlic on his head :D

They were similar, but Timurid turkic tribes aint exactly mongols as people know mongols (related to them, but more of turk-mongols). And that ruler isnt just any ruler but the legendary military genius Timur lenk/Tamerlane.

But yeah, ODD choice of a a favourite

This is the same with me telling you that Del Piero is a Juve player.

Stop being so pedantic, Osman. How the fuck do you expect them to know what a Timurid turkic tribe is and also, many of them won't know who Timur was.

I simplified it. Mongols and the ruler of the Mongols. That way we all know what we're talking about and that we're soooo off topic for the last 4-5 hours :)

They dont know who Timur was???

Hehe yeah, just being pedantic, but also I thought you genuinly thought Timur is a traditional Mongol (and not just laying it down for these laymen, hehe), when he is more of ze distant relatives kinda Mongol after their expansions century ago.

Btw, dont know who this Sultan was, but even if funny, I doubt the validity of that account of how he was treated. Timur was usually quite gentmanly and treated his prisoners well, perhaps some truth to it, but doubt it was that clear cut.

Those turkic mongol tribes could be rather savage (this dude ruled briefly, but massacared insane amount of people), but when they have a esteemed "guest", their decorum says they oughta treat him well. Not that was the case all the time, and also it wouldnt the first time unreliable accounts paints history to how the world sees it.

It's a little of both actually. You should read into it, contemporary sources i mean, if you get a chance some day because all the stories are different one from another, and they're all very interesting. There were two phases most probably. The capturing and showing him locked in a cage as a trophy and the later months, before Sultan's death, where he was most probably treated with more respect.
Of course, the writers from the later centuries decided to accept the more interesting stories, as did the narators from the lands under Ottoman reign, so that's why that version is much more popular.

The thing that I don't understand is that some of you really thinking that it's very simple to compromise and divide the country into two countries/states.

Are the Palestinians obliged to give half if not more of their lands to Israeli?

If everyone wants to end this they can simply find a solution and ship them somewhere else. I mean seriously, It's not their country, as simple and as easy as that it can't be. They're not obliged to give anything even if that meant half million Martyrs.

And even If Palestinians will compromise one day, Israel will never accept to receive back the Palestinian refugees. Not to mention that they can never live alongside each others.

One thing Western people and also Americans should know that, Israeli are surrounded by people they don't like, they don't want them and vice versa.

At last but not least, I wish strength and power to the Palestinians to free their right and free their land.
