too bad it's worthless. they issued a similar warrant for putin last march lol
It’s not worthless but it might take decades, just like with the Yugoslavia tribunal. The problem is physically arresting all those people, you either need a change in the political landscape of Israel/Russia where the new government is willing to give those people to The Netherlands, or some special forces operation where those people get arrested, but that doesn’t seem realistic.

Btw if anyone doesn’t know, the ICC opens a investigation when countries aren’t willing to convict their own people who commit crimes against humanity, hence why Sadam got killed in Iraq. It remains a question mark to me why the people involved in the Iraq invasion didn’t got arrested, it remains a politicised body, especially the US has a strange relationship with the court.

And reading Israel’s reaction, somehow Israel became synonymous for Jewish.

Because they know.

It doesn’t have to matter though, them having that act shouldn’t by any means stop the ICC from opening a investigation. It’s a bit cheating right, semi-recognising the court but having a law that protects your own citizens from prosecution, meanwhile they’ve arrested African war lords with special forces operations. As said the US has a strange relationship with the court. I think that under Trump they’ll take a step back again. Anyway it’s not relevant now, but I always found that whole Iraq situation strange and frustrating.

You're right it shouldn't and it hasn't on occasion, like when they opened an investigation into US war crimes in Afghanistan a few years ago, or their investigation into israeli war crimes in Palestine in 2021, and of course the most recent warrants. Unsurprisingly US and israel responded by pressuring the court mafioso-style via sanctions and other tactics, which exposes the hypocrisy of the relationship and how the "rules based order" works in practice (the US makes the rules and orders everyone else around).

Wait, are the Dutch invading Arkansas or vice versa?
The Dutch are probably better off not bothering about Arkansas.
The height of delusion was when after 9-11, then Arkansans were worried that their tallest building (which, IIRC, was owned by a dairy company at the time) would be targeted as well. Doubt that the terrorists even heard of Arkansas.

Well, even if they did target their stupid dairy building in Little Rock, it would have been good for the economy if it was destroyed. Broken windows theory and all.
