Del Piero was awful IMO. He couldn't do a thing right in the 2nd half, missing 2 chances he should've scored. Cassano played pretty well I thought when he came on at the start of the 2nd half.

Lol @ Stuart doing a report on the basis of what I told him on Messenger.

Anyway, here are a few brief observations I can make after seeing the game :

1) Cannavaro is not fit, Ferrari is.
2) Nesta is a liability, as usual.
3) We seem to suffer too much from corner kicks and free-kicks.
4) Zambrotta is in top form.
5) Perrotta and Zanetti give more covering, Pirlo and Gattuso give more depth.
6) Cassano is a genius, but this is nothing new. He could really be Italy's added value.
7) Del Piero is trying hard, but he's not there yet (built well, finished poorly).
8) Vieri and Totti somewhat spared their energies, but seem to be in good shape and combine well with each other.
9) Camoranesi plays better with the azzurri than with Juve.
10) Giuseppe Favalli will be the star of Euro 2004.

I saw the entire game.

Zambo WAS the best man on the pitch(again)! He deserved that goal.
Pirlo showed that he should be a starter for Italy.

Del Piero could've been better. Missed some easy chances and looked a bit Figo'ish(in a bad way). Had some good passes though.
I didn't think Cassano was that much better, apart from one nice 1-2 with Zambo.

Whoa.. dissagree with some points here.
1/2.Cannavaro (besides the goal) and Nesta we're way better than Ferrari-Matrix. How can you say Nesta is a liability ?!
3.When did Italy suffer?
5. Pirlo and Gattuso are a class above Perrotta and Zanetti.
6. Cassano wasn't THAT good, besides that 1-2 with Zambo.
10. eh... What?!?! you must be joking .

1/2 Cannavaro scored a goal but looked shaky at times. His knee is still hurting. Ferrari looked very secure : he's matured a lot and is ready for the first team imo. How can you say Nesta is not a liability is the real question.
3. When Tunisia earned themselves corner kicks. We shall see how they cope against bigger teams.
6. Cassano toyed with the Tunisian defence in the last 10 minutes, showing some of his magic tricks.
10. Who knows..

Trapattoni: "Del Piero was impressive but lacked a goal."

That pretty much sums up what Kaiser has said. He built well, finished poorly.

Ferrari looks so safe at the back. I can see good things coming from him. His tackling is superb! I am starting to become a big fan of this guy, and Pirlo, well, ill let his soccer do the talking. Sometimes a bit of a ballerina, but he has a lot of class.
Also Perotta, missing link in this italian midfield!

Come on, make us proud. this is the year.
