I do find it interesting how many non-Italians support Italy (or at the very least take an interest in the team beyond the involvement of specific players), presumably because they support a football club in Italy.

Not mentioning this in any specific connection right here - just seen a general trend on here and else where.

Personally for me, I've been a fan of a lot of their players on an individual level. Also, I've grown up having several Italian friends, probably some influence there. I've actually liked the Azzurri longer than I've liked an Italian club team (and strangely enough, I ended up supporting probably the least Italian club in Italy).
