It's not just football chants either. I have a loose theory that when you're entering a street brawl with someone, you grab the closest thing that's convenient to hurl and break someone's face with. If they're bald, black, fat, one-eyed, short -- all of those become the quick weapon that's handy. It's just that we've decided as a civilization that height and baldness are ok but race is not.
