Didn't know where to post this and this isn't something new - at least not for me - but the department of justice (Or is it FBI?) investigating the whole FIFA scandal has revealed proof that from 2001 to 2011, Ricardo Teixeira (former CBF - Brazilian Football Federation president ) was receiving bribe to pick and call up players the paying people wanted.

I always say that if we knew what happens behind the curtains in the football world we'd stop watching it period.

My Uncle is Robert Miller, the CEO of Abakan. His good friend Costas Takkas was the CFO, and one of the guys arrested in the FIFA investigations. Apparently in October, Switzerland approved America's request to have him extradited.

So much corruption. Didn't the CONMEBOL and CONCACAF presidents get arrested today? Hawit and Napout?

Anything with large sums of money is going to have corruption. I do a bit of football gambling but my brother is really into it, and you see patterns in certain games and leagues where you can predict goals within a window of a minute. Lots of Asian leagues, you wouldn't be surprised to hear. The small countries are farcical, even international games up to the full NT. I've seen it happening in the Greek league recently. If punters can see it I don't know why the authorities aren't all over it...

but if you know that, whatever is happening behind the curtains is enough to make us stop watching football if we knew about it, why dont we simply stop watching football?

Truer than true. And don't think it only happens in small leagues, this shit is everywhere. They just don't get caught, well, sometimes they do :D

Club level corruption is probably 10 times worse.

My old football coach played as a professional in Singapore. He once told me that they won 10-1, in the cup, against the clear league winner (same season). He said it was so ridicolous, you could only laugh.

I've watched players in Vietnam just standing in defence and letting them run through. One time the attacking team were so bad that they couldn't score and in the end a defender just kicked a guy in the stomach so they could get a penalty, as time was running out. This was something like the 91st minute. They even missed the penalty. In the end they were almost standing still to let them score, the ref played on until 95 or something.

He's like a big baby. I suppose when people usually kiss your ass all day it's easy to get your feelings hurt. If anything he's a disgrace to Africa reacting like that to such a thing.
